On the last day of our Jeju trip, we were wondering what to have for breakfast when pork noodles—something you just can't skip on a Jeju trip—came to mind.

We were planning to visit Saryeoni Forest Path after breakfast, so while looking for somewhere we could stop by on the way, I found Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch (면주막 제주본점).

Let me tell you about our filling bowl of pork noodles!

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch, on the way to Saryeoni Forest Path

Myeonjumak is about a 15-minute drive from Saryeoni Forest Path. There are so many places to visit nearby—Eco Land, Jeju Stone Park, Sangumburi, Surprise Theme Park, and Snoopy Garden—so it's an easy stop!

There is a large dedicated parking lot in front of the restaurant, and they say it can fit more than 100 cars, so you can come without worrying about parking.

A colorful exterior and spacious interior

The first thing that caught my eye when we arrived was the colorful exterior.

The building was painted with illustrations that had a local Jeju feel, which made it fun to look around. There was also a shop selling Jeju specialties beside the restaurant.

Inside, it was large and tidy. The tables were well spaced, and everything was kept clean, so we could eat comfortably.

There were tour buses outside before we went in, and it really seemed like a great place for group meals. It would be lovely for family gatherings or get-togethers with friends, too.

From pork noodles to a half portion of dombe pork

Myeonjumak says it uses only freshly slaughtered Jeju black pork, 100% sourced from Jeju.

They say freshly boiled dombe pork (Jeju-style sliced boiled pork served on a wooden board) comes out at 9 a.m. and noon, so if you want it straight from the pot, it might be nice to time your visit for then. We came for pork noodles, but I was surprised by how many noodle options there were.

Menu with a variety of noodle dishes

Along with the basic pork noodles, there were anchovy noodles, cold anchovy noodles, abalone mixed noodles, and conch mixed noodles. Children's noodles are free for children up to 36 months old. For sides, there were dombe pork, dombe conch, and dombe abalone; you can order dombe pork in a half portion, which is perfect when two people visit!

Information on ordering a half portion of dombe pork

You can order and pay right at the kiosk screen on the table. We ordered pork noodles for ₩10,000, spicy mixed pork noodles for ₩10,000, and a half portion of dombe pork for ₩18,000.

By the way, they were running a Naver receipt-review event where you could receive a meal voucher or hallabong juice, so do give it a try!

Half portion of dombe pork

First, the half portion of dombe pork arrived. A little flag was stuck into the neatly plated pork, and it was quietly adorable, haha.

The dombe pork, made with Jeju black pork, had a nice balance of fat and lean meat. It was tender and clean-tasting! The portion was just right to have alongside the noodles, too.

As we were eating the dombe pork, the noodles appeared!

Pork noodles with milky-white broth

The pork noodles had a milky-white broth! Make sure to add the pepper and seaweed flakes set out on the table. The broth had that rich pork-stock flavor 👍🏻 It was hot and comforting, perfect for breakfast. The noodles were thicker and softer than regular somyeon (thin wheat noodles), making them easy to slurp down.

Thick, soft noodles in pork noodle soup

I ordered the spicy mixed pork noodles. They come with anchovy broth! They were generously topped with cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, lettuce, and big pieces of pork, so I loved the look of them from the start.

Once I mixed the tender pork and vegetables with the red sauce, it was spicy, slightly sweet, and full of savory flavor.

A bite of the spicy-sweet mixed noodles topped with a piece of tender dombe pork was such a perfect match! And the noodle portion was seriously huge, haha. With the dombe pork as well, the two of us were really full.

An easy place to head to sightseeing after breakfast

I was happy with the wide noodle selection, from the basic pork noodles to mixed noodles, and with being able to try dombe pork made with Jeju black pork. Since it opens at 9 a.m., it's easy to visit even if you start your itinerary early, and with so many attractions nearby, it was perfect for heading out after a meal.

The restaurant was spacious enough for groups, and we also looked around the specialty shop next door after eating. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for filling pork noodles and dombe pork 😎
