The night breeze has gotten so cool lately — perfect season for enjoying that outdoor tent (yajang) vibe, right? I went to Jongno 3-ga to feel that breezy outdoor mood while eating some delicious meat!!
Where is Tapgol Gongwon Jongno 3-ga, and what are its hours?
Tapgol Gongwon Jongno 3-ga Branch (탑골공원 종로3가점) is an outdoor Korean BBQ restaurant at 111 Supyo-ro, 1st floor, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It's open daily from 17:00 to 01:00.

I visited Tapgol Gongwon Jongno 3-ga, a Jongno 3-ga BBQ spot that's even gone viral on Instagram Reels. This place has outdoor seating set up, so it wins you over with the atmosphere alone.

On weekends and holidays there's a 90-minute meal time limit

Two servings of grade-1 sow frozen pork belly, 18,000 won each
The signature dish at Tapgol Gongwon Jongno 3-ga Branch is the grade-1 sow frozen pork belly, 18,000 won per serving. The moment we sat down we ordered 2 servings without a second thought 🪄 There's even a little light hanging over the table that really plays up the outdoor tent mood haha.

Lettuce and that sort of thing are available at the self-service corner. Water too (bottled, self-service).

Being frozen pork belly, the meat's color stood out with a bright red freshness right from the start.

The moment it hit the grill it started sizzling~ and gave off such a savory smell.

They grill kimchi and bean sprouts together in the pork belly fat, eating them alongside the meat~~

Once the pork belly was grilled golden brown, I took a bite — no gamey smell at all, just savory and clean!

Ending the meal with savory kimchi fried rice, 6,000 won
After clearing out all the meat, I didn't forget the essential dessert course either ✔️ I ordered an extra serving of savory kimchi fried rice (6,000 won) — a name that just rolls off the tongue. Gotta have some carbs, right ㅠㅠ

Taking a heaping spoonful, spicy-sweet and savory flavors spread all through my mouth. It was my zeroth meal of the day, so I basically couldn't put my spoon down haha. Eating grilled meat in that cool outdoor breeze was healing in itself. With such tasty frozen pork belly and a great atmosphere, it was also very satisfying for a drink or two.
If you're looking for an outdoor BBQ spot near Jongno with real atmosphere, this is a must-visit!!
I'd strongly recommend this Tapgol Gongwon BBQ spot for visiting with a close friend or partner!

After dinner in Jongno: a walk along Cheonggyecheon
+ It's also close to Cheonggyecheon, so after the meal we went and had dessert by the stream and spent the evening feeling cool and refreshed! The weather's so nice lately — this is a chance you can only get right now!!!
