Noon craft beer pub in Boryeong: DCB Platter at Daecheon Brewery

If you're visiting Daecheon Beach, you've got to see the ocean and eat something delicious too, right? Our family picked Boryeong-Daecheon as our getaway just as September was starting.

On this trip, I went looking for somewhere a little special and ended up at Daecheon Brewery. It was great to go with a kid, and more than anything, it really felt like one of those must-visit spots in Boryeong that made the trip feel like an actual trip.

It's a spot near Daecheon Beach where you can enjoy craft beer along with tasty food, and to cut to the chase — if you like beer, there were a lot of points here you'd probably love.🥰

Where is Daecheon Brewery, and is there parking? Doors open at noon

Daecheon Brewery's address is 65-71 Daeryangjiseonjae-gil, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. We drove there, and there was plenty of parking right in front of the building.

I assumed it'd be a regular pub that opens in the evening, but the opening time is 12:00 (noon), which means you can drink beer in broad daylight — huge bonus! It let us kick off this trip on a refreshing note with a cold daytime beer🍻

The entrance practically radiates that exotic vibe, doesn't it?😍 A big van painted with beer graphics and a palm tree concept greeted us, and it really nailed that vacation feeling.

It was especially hot that day, so I was really craving a cold beer. The beer here turned out way colder and more delicious than I expected, and it stuck with me for a long time afterward, haha.

Daecheon Brewery is a place that runs a craft beer brewery and a pub together.

Various awards and celebrity signatures are displayed all around the shop, which only built up my anticipation while waiting.

Looking at the menu, there were a variety of craft beers named after the local area — Boryeong Mud Lager, Daecheon Golden Ale, Wonsan-do IPA, Ocheon Porter, and more — so you can pick based on your taste.

The tables were nice and wide and comfortable, and there was group seating and bar seating too, so it's a good space to go with a bigger group.

What we ordered was the signature platter! It packs a bunch of different items in one go, so it looked great for sharing among several people, and I especially liked that everything in it pairs well with beer.

The platter came with fries, sausage, salad, chicken drumettes and wings, and more. Even though we only ordered one menu item, it was fun picking through different things.

The fries need no introduction as a beer snack. Pop one in your mouth crispy, take a sip of cold beer — that combo keeps your hand reaching back for more! The sausage was salty with a springy texture that went really well with the beer.

There were even three thoughtful sauces (nacho sauce, ketchup, whole grain mustard), which was great for dipping in different ways.

Unfiltered draft beer at Daecheon Brewery: the first crisp sip

More than anything, the beer was really cold that day. That refreshing feeling of the first sip was great, and after being out in the hot weather looking at the ocean, that first sip was extremely satisfying.

Daecheon Brewery's draft beer is apparently made unfiltered, keeping the yeast flavor intact — maybe that's why it had a fresh feel that was a bit different from beer I usually drink.

After splashing around or just gazing at the ocean at Daecheon Beach, having a cold craft beer along with a delicious platter bumps the fun of the trip up a notch.
