Grilled room dining for a wedding invite party at Anmin Yullyang

I love Anmin so much! Last time I went to the Bongmyeong branch and it was so delicious and satisfying, so this time I decided to try the Yullyang branch.

The interior feels like a tasty black pork place in Jeju! The pigs drawn on the sign are so cute I felt a little guilty walking in... hahaha, sorry pigs~~~

A pork BBQ spot in Yullyang-dong — what about waiting and reservations?

There are so many pork BBQ places in Yullyang-dong that it's hard to get a wait at any single one, but Anmin Yullyang actually had a line? Everyone's tastebuds are the same, haha. You can register for the wait through the Table Managing app, and for important appointments I'd recommend booking ahead.

We booked ahead, so we got seated right away. The interior is really clean too. Perfect for a wedding invitation gathering or a family meal out! And best of all, the ventilation system is so good that the meat smell doesn't cling to your clothes.

A room space great for wedding invitation gatherings and family occasions

The table was set neatly. It seems perfect for a wedding invitation meetup or a gathering with friends, and since there's a separated room space, it'd also be great for family events, don't you think? Hahaha.

The garnish spread

From soy-braised abalone to cheese fondue, assorted pickled wrap vegetables, green onion kimchi, cumin powder, pine flower salt and more — the garnishes served alongside the meat are prepared with real care, and honestly I'd recommend trying every single combination fresh each time, they're all so good, T_T.

Creamy draft beer and non-alcoholic cocktails

We came back two weeks later and they've launched a new creamy draft beer? It's exactly the right season for a beer~ There's also a wide range of cocktails, and what's great here is there are plenty of non-alcoholic cocktail options too, so even pregnant guests can enjoy something tasty. We ordered the same half-pig set as last time.

At the Bongmyeong branch we were something like the 50-thousand-something customer, but the relatively newer Yullyang branch had us at customer number 4,515!

The half-pig set: composition and portion size

This is the portion for the half-pig set. It's a satisfying spread letting you try Anmin's signature pork belly, pork neck, and herbal-marinated pork skin all at once — I'd recommend it for two people.

The pork skin in particular is really delicious, and if you do the Naver review event you can get maybe three more strips, so if you're worried about running short, be sure to grab that.

Tableside grilling and how the meat tastes

The staff grill everything for you, and it's cooked perfectly — you can just relax and eat. Best of all, the smoke gets sucked away immediately so no meat smell sticks to your clothes at all!! Great, great.

The owner here is a true meat master, haha. He even asked me how the Bongmyeong branch was, but both were so good I honestly can't rule which is better!

Dip it in cumin powder and wrap it with wild chives, dip it in the cheese fondue, or try it plain with just pine flower salt for something clean! Crispy outside, juicy inside, with the fat just melting in — it goes down so easily.

Side dish: golbimyeon

For a side dish we tried golbimyeon — whelk plus spicy mixed noodles. Anmin's side dishes are seriously on point too, haha. Last time we had the doenjang stew, the white cheese fried rice and the cold ramen, and those were all fantastic as well.

This golbimyeon was also great. The secret sauce packed with vegetables and fruit, combined with whelk and fresh noodles, gave it a chewy texture and a spicy, savory kick that cut right through the richness of the meat.

Would I go back?

With fresh domestic pork prepped by hand daily, deep flavor finished over charcoal, and warm hospitality, I can recommend this without hesitation to anyone looking for a great BBQ spot in Yullyang-dong, Cheongju! As I've thought since last time, it's also a great spot for a wedding invitation gathering (in fact, the table behind us was actually having one, hahahaha). I think I'll be back at Anmin Yullyang again soon.
