Inside Insadong Jemyeonso: atmosphere and seating
The interior has a clean, warm wood-tone design, and there are quite a lot of tables, so it seems like a good spot for group meals while visiting Insadong

There are plenty of date spots nearby too, like Ssamziegil, Cheonggyecheon, and Samcheong-dong, so it seems good either as a date-course restaurant with a partner or for a solo meal

Spice levels and unlimited rice refills
This Insadong restaurant lets you adjust the spice level on every menu item, and even offers unlimited rice refills

I thought the whole place felt well-run, and it turns out they're part of the same group as Cheonaeboora, a brand with locations at Anseong Starfield, Pangyo Pamers Mall, and more 😮

Side dishes served with the rice bowls
This Insadong restaurant serves kimchi, danmuji (pickled radish), and hot broth as basic side dishes

Honestly, this is just the right combination to go with rice bowls and tempura, so I didn't feel like the selection was lacking 😘
What we ordered in Insadong and what it cost
[ Order ] Steak rice bowl ₩14,500 Shrimp tempura 5p + Eat's Rich highball ₩14,000 Tangerine hallabong juice ₩5,000 Fanta ₩2,000 Total: ₩35,500

Steak rice bowl, 14,500 won
The first dish we tried was one of this Insadong restaurant's signature menu items, the steak rice bowl (₩14,500)

The steak rice bowl is skirt steak marinated in tsuyu sauce with a smoky char

The doneness was especially satisfying — golden brown on the outside, juicy on the inside
The meat wasn't dry at all, just the right tender chew — honestly, it couldn't get more perfect than this 🤤

The steak sauce was sweet and savory, pairing really well with the meat — tasty on its own, but since it's a rice bowl, it's even better mixed with the rice 😆

Shrimp tempura 5p + Eat's Rich highball, 14,000 won
Next up was the set we ordered, shrimp tempura 5p + Eat's Rich highball (₩14,000)

Freshly fried shrimp tempura — no need to explain, it's just delicious 😭😭
Crispy outside, tender inside is a given, and the pieces were big too — honestly, if you just want a simple meal or a light drink, the shrimp tempura + highball alone would be enough 🤔

You can choose your highball from several options — I picked the Eat's Rich highball 🍸

The Eat's Rich highball is a sweet peach-flavored highball, not too strong, so it's easy to drink even if you're a lightweight

Gyul Hareubang hallabong juice, 5,000 won
Last was something I just wanted to try, the tangerine hallabong juice (₩5,000)
It's 100% pure-pressed hallabong juice with not a drop of water added — but honestly, I just loved that it comes in a dolhareubang (stone grandfather statue) shaped bottle, that's no secret 🤣

Insadong Jemyeonso Annyeong Insadong Branch serves a wide variety of Japanese-style dishes, and the Annyeong Insadong Pass makes it great value, so keep that in mind
