Ansan galbi restaurant with 4-rib galbitang: Cheongnyuok

I went to Cheongnyuok, a Korean BBQ restaurant at Bandalseom in Ansan.. and the scale of the place was massive!! I went for pork belly but the galbitang (beef short rib soup) turned out to be even more shockingly delicious! Let's get into my Cheongnyuok review~

Cheongnyuok basics: location and parking

💡 5 hours of free parking!! Just park on floors 2–5 of the building! You can eat leisurely without worrying about parking fees~

Finding Cheongnyuok at Arnev Cube, Bandalseom

Cheongnyuok, a Korean BBQ restaurant at Bandalseom in Ansan's Danwon-gu, is located on the ground floor of the Arnev Cube building. Being at Bandalseom, the surrounding scenery is nice and accessibility isn't bad either~ They said to come from the back entrance side, but the building itself is huge and easy to spot, so it wasn't hard to find!

You can tell from the exterior alone that this is a large-scale operation — it's a massive Korean BBQ restaurant that uses a whopping six units, from 109 to 114 😮 There's an early bird event with unlimited soju from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM!!!

How big is Cheongnyuok inside, and the private group room

I was overwhelmed by the scale the moment I walked in!! It's on a completely different level from a regular BBQ restaurant — the hall is so spacious that dozens of people can eat at once without it feeling cramped at all!

There's a meat aging fridge right at the entrance.. seeing the fresh meat's glossy color made my mouth water right away haha

It's not just spacious — there's a separate private group room, which makes it genuinely optimized for group gatherings like company dinners or family get-togethers!

The group room is cozily partitioned off, so you can eat comfortably with just your group without worrying about people around you — that's a really great point!

If you run low on side dishes or vegetables, you can use the self-bar to refill without running short!

They also have baby chairs available, so families with young kids can dine comfortably, and overall the place was managed very cleanly!

There was a good variety of beef options too, all with great value for money!! Pork also came in various cuts, and at lunch there's a pork rib special, so a lot of other tables were ordering that too~

How do the 400g pork belly, galbitang and mul naengmyeon taste?

I went to Cheongnyuok at Bandalseom in Ansan specifically wanting pork belly..

I first ordered the 400g pork belly, then added galbitang and mul naengmyeon afterward — and I was genuinely blown away by the menu items I wasn't even expecting!

Galbitang with 4 rib bones: the real standout

Honestly, I had no intention of ordering galbitang at a BBQ restaurant, but I saw the table next to us eating it and added it right away lol

It had four rib bones in it, and they were so big that I let out a 'wow~~~' the moment I picked up the bowl lol

The rib meat came off the bone so easily, with plenty of meat that was cooked so tender that it fell apart just from touching it with chopsticks!

The broth was rich and savory but not greasy at all, finishing clean — even after eating pork belly, I was able to finish the whole bowl no problem!!

The value for money at this price was almost unbelievable given the quality 👏 It was my first time going to a BBQ restaurant and being more impressed by the galbitang lol

Pork belly (samgyeopsal), 400g

The pork belly was also fresh and delicious!

The meat quality was good, with no off smell and a clean taste, and when grilled to the right thickness, the outside was golden while the inside stayed juicy — really nice texture~

The galbitang made such a strong impression that the pork belly was relatively overshadowed, but it was plenty delicious on its own!

Mul naengmyeon, cold buckwheat noodles

The mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) had a clean, refreshing broth that was perfect for cleansing the palate after eating meat!

The noodles were chewy and the broth wasn't too sweet, finishing light and clean — I enjoyed it down to the last sip!

Side dishes and the aged dongchimi

Every one of Cheongnyuok's side dishes at Bandalseom in Ansan was neatly prepared, so pairing them with the meat, you're guaranteed to finish a whole bowl of rice!

The dongchimi (fermented radish water kimchi) in particular was a real standout — it's aged separately in an aging fridge, so it had a crisp, clean taste that felt alive. Taking a sip between bites of meat felt so refreshing!
