Today I'm introducing a Bandalseom favorite — Cheongnyuok! One of the most important things when visiting is free parking, so no stress even if you drive. It's also great for family meals or company dinners since they support group bookings, reservations, and even have baby chairs ready to go.

What really stood out is that the entrance, seating, and restroom are all thoughtfully wheelchair-accessible, so it's a great pick if you're bringing parents or grandparents along. Let me introduce this Bandalseom favorite, Cheongnyuok!

Inside Cheongnyuok: private rooms and conveniences

The restaurant is spaciously laid out with 4-top and 6-top tables, and further in there are private rooms numbered like 'Cheongnyuok 2' and 'Cheongnyuok 3.' At the entrance, there's a meat showcase and a large menu board where you can check prices right away.

A big menu board stands right at the entrance so you can see at a glance what they serve and how much it costs. The hanwoo (Korean beef) assorted 400g at ₩56,000 and the signature 600g at ₩96,000 really catch your eye. Even just the entrance shows how much care goes into being a proper hanwoo restaurant.

Once you step inside, you're greeted right away by the meat showcases. Various cuts of meat, each packaged separately, are displayed there.

The interior is spacious, arranged with 4-top and 6-top tables. Each table has a grill built into the center, and a tablet menu for ordering directly from your seat.

One side has a large window wall, so if you'd like to eat while looking outside, grab a window seat!

Further inside, there are private room spaces numbered like 'Cheongnyuok 2' and 'Cheongnyuok 3.' Separated by sliding doors, each room also has a long table, a grill, and an ordering tablet.

Disposable aprons also hang on one of the pillars.

There's a restroom inside the building, so you don't need to step outside. Following the hallway outside the restaurant leads to separate men's and women's restrooms.

Cheongnyuok's self-serve side dish bar and plate shelf

On one side of the restaurant, there's a self-serve bar where you can freely grab extra side dishes. Below are fresh lettuce, kimchi, salad, and various sauces like onion sauce, all neatly arranged. On the upper shelf, there are plenty of small plates, paper cups, scissors, and tongs, so you can take whatever you need.

What we ordered at Cheongnyuok

At Cheongnyuok, I ordered sliced hanwoo striploin 300g, a beef tartare bibimbap and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) set, cheese bomb steamed egg, and a Tamsapine Zero. It's a combo of grilled hanwoo with a meal and a side.

Marble-patterned 6-top table at Cheongnyuok

I was seated at a clean marble-patterned 6-top table with 6 cushioned chairs. There's a grill built into the center of the table, and spare grill plates are kept on a shelf underneath.

In the partition space at the center of the table, there's an ordering tablet, a water bottle, salt and pepper, and cups for water or drinks.

The side dishes that come with every table at Cheongnyuok

The basic side dishes come as a neat set that pairs well with the meat. The most eye-catching is the cool mul-kimchi (water kimchi) served in a small jar, with a ladle and individual plates provided so it's easy to scoop and eat.

Alongside that come spicy-sweet seasoned crab, pungent green onion kimchi, and a refreshing salad. There's also pickled onion strips, salted seafood, and seaweed salad to boost the meat's flavor, plus a dish of salt for dipping and garlic to grill on the pan.

The meat: 300g sliced hanwoo striploin vs thin pork belly and thick-cut grilling

A plate of Cheongnyuok's sliced hanwoo striploin 300g

🥩 Taste difference — while regular sliced pork belly is mostly about light fattiness and savoriness, the sliced hanwoo striploin, lightly cooked on the grill, melts in your mouth right away, and the rich, clean beef flavor unique to striploin spreads more the more you chew.

Sliced hanwoo striploin cooking on the grill

💡 Why I chose it — thick-cut grilling hanwoo takes time to cook, but sliced striploin cooks the moment it hits the pan, so you get that tender texture right away without waiting — the best choice.

The meal: yukhoe bibimbap and doenjang jjigae set vs naengmyeon or bibimbap alone

🍲 Broth difference — unlike the cool, tangy-sweet naengmyeon (cold noodle) broth, the doenjang jjigae in the set has that savory traditional soybean paste flavor melded with the meat's richness, giving a deep, comforting soup taste.

🥢 Taste difference — the sweet, salty, chewy umami of the beef tartare bibimbap tossed in a special soy sauce blends perfectly with the hot, savory doenjang jjigae.

💡 Why I chose it — the doenjang jjigae eases the dryness you might feel eating bibimbap alone and maximizes the flavor, making it a great choice for both taste balance and value.

The side: cheese bomb steamed egg vs plain steamed egg

🧀 Taste difference — to the plain cleanness of regular steamed egg, this adds savory cheese and salty flavor, bursting up softly and fluffily from the earthenware pot — a really appealing texture.

💡 Why I chose it — it's a must-add side that gently soothes your palate in between bites of meat and bibimbap.

Is Cheongnyuok in Ansan worth a visit? Final verdict

Table set with Cheongnyuok's grilled hanwoo and side dishes

Overall the restaurant was spacious and comfortable, with amenities like the window wall view and clothing stylers making the whole meal pleasant. The rich beef aroma of the sliced hanwoo striploin, which cooks the moment it hits the grill, was excellent, and the combination with the savory beef tartare bibimbap, hanwoo doenjang jjigae set, and the nutty cheese bomb steamed egg was great.

With neat basic side dishes and a convenient self-serve bar, I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting clean hanwoo grilling and a hearty meal, or looking for a spot for family gatherings or group dinners!
