Vietnamese restaurant near Naver HQ: bún chả and chicken neck, Kkamon
In short
Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is a Vietnamese restaurant on a restaurant street near Jeongja Station and Naver's headquarters in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi. Two diners ordered Kkamon pho with beef brisket, bún chả (grilled pork with rice noodles) and fried chicken neck at the kiosk to share. The rich broth and the crispy, never-dry fried chicken neck stood out most. With a Vietnam-style interior and generous portions, Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is worth recommending for Vietnamese food in Jeongja-dong.

Where is Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store?
Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is a Vietnamese restaurant located by Jeongja Station in Bundang. Today's post is a food review of Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store.

It's close to Jeongja Station, but it's also really close to Naver's Bundang headquarters building! This area is a restaurant row with a bunch of good spots, and Kkamon is one of them.

The exterior really makes you feel like you've traveled to Vietnam.

Please check the hours. They're open from lunch through late evening.

What's the menu and atmosphere like at Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store?
Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store has a pretty wide menu! You can taste a good variety of Vietnamese dishes here.

The interior is very Vietnamese too!!!

And the staff seemed to be Vietnamese too, which made it feel even more like an actual trip abroad.

The restaurant's name is Kkamon! CAMON, which is 깜온 in Korean phonetics — it means 'thank you' in Vietnamese. You order from a kiosk.

What did we order at Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store?
We ordered Kkamon pho, bún chả, and fried chicken neck. We originally wanted to try the stir-fried water spinach too, but it was sold out that day, unfortunately.
And!!! They have Vietnamese beer too haha. Hanoi, Saigon, and Tiger — three kinds in total.

The self-serve bar and basic side dishes
Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store has a self-serve bar, so you can grab small plates, scissors, tongs, and any side dishes you're missing there.

Even the small plates have Vietnamese written on them. I have no idea what it means beyond 'Vietnam' haha.

The chopsticks are colorful too, haha. The basic side dish was pickled onions — you can eat them as a side or add them into your pho. (Actually, thinking about it, maybe they're not meant to be a side dish at all, just something to add to the pho.)
There's sauce on every table! Adding it to your pho makes the flavor richer. It's totally up to personal taste, so just add as much as you like.

And pickled radish and jalapeños to cleanse your palate!

How were the Kkamon pho and bún chả?
The Kkamon pho and bún chả came out first. Ordering just these two was a great way for the two of us to try two different flavors.

Kkamon pho comes with beef brisket, and the broth is really rich. It tasted like the real pho you'd get in Vietnam.

And the bún chả!

Is the fried chicken neck worth ordering?
The fried chicken neck at Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store comes in a generous portion and is crispy, so I'd recommend it. It arrived in the middle of our meal, and the portion was huge. So filling,,,,,
We portioned out the bún chả, pho, and fried chicken neck onto our small plates. This!!!!!! was so good. The fried chicken was crispy, and the neck meat wasn't dry at all.

They'll give you cilantro separately if you ask!

Added to the pho. I'm still not used to the smell of cilantro, so I only added a little bit at a time, haha.

We also dipped the fried chicken neck in sauce. I was debating whether to order wings instead, but I ended up getting the chicken neck!!! You should get this.

What's the best way to eat Kkamon's bún chả?
Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store's bún chả comes with lemon instead of lime, along with minced garlic. You dunk the noodles deep into the bún chả sauce.

Then, with the meat, cilantro, garlic, and lettuce, just drizzle on the lemon sauce and you can really taste the vibrant flavor of bún chả.
The pho can also have mung bean sprouts added in — the broth was rich yet clean.

Since pho noodles are made from rice instead of wheat flour, it does feel a bit less guilt-inducing somehow? It's like eating rice cake tteok instead of wheat flour tteok, haha!

Would I recommend Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store?
Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store gives you quite generous portions, and more importantly, it's delicious. Both the interior and the food let you feel the local Vietnamese atmosphere, so if you're looking for a good restaurant around Jeongja-dong or Jeongja Station in Bundang, I'd recommend it.
