Hanwoo omakase birthday set at Woowine, a Suwon Ingye-dong BBQ spot

To celebrate my fiancé's birthday, I visited Woowine, a hanwoo (Korean beef) omakase spot in Suwon ~ I was surprised by how much more solid the composition and taste were than I expected, so I brought back a true review! If you're looking for a date spot to eat well in Ingye-dong, I highly recommend this place..💕

Where is Woowine on Nahyeseok-gil in Ingye-dong?

It's located on Nahyeseok-gil street in Ingye-dong, Suwon! The exterior is totally unique and shiny, so it caught my eye right away haha

When you open the door and go in, there's beef aging inside and one more door to enter through.

Once you're in, the seating is set up as a counter (dachi seats). Especially with the large screen, it really felt like looking out a window at a sunset view.

Woowine Selection Set price and composition

There are set menus and menus where you can just order meat, plus a wine menu and side dishes. Since this place feels a lot like a hanwoo omakase, you'll be satisfied no matter what you order! We ordered the Woowine Selection Set! ₩185,000 for 2 people

Since we visited with a reservation, the basic setting was already all done. A mother-of-pearl coaster set giving off a luxurious vibe haha, exactly the right atmosphere for a date at an Ingye-dong restaurant..! (especially recommended for anniversaries or birthdays..)

There was quite a variety of wine too? We had to pass because we were driving ㅠㅠ

First, meat of insane quality showed up.. I was surprised by how much meat there was! Oh man, the thickness and color of the meat were unreal...

From gomtang to hwajeon: the bite-size course

The gomtang (beef bone soup) that comes as a default starts things off first! With just the right seasoning and savory depth, it was perfect for warming up your stomach and whetting your appetite as an appetizer. Total omakase vibes..

Next, small bite-size dishes were prepared. Perfect to eat while the grill was heating up!

The tuna tataki was refreshing and the aroma was so good when eaten as a single bite.

Great finger food, bite-size dishes.. they nailed both design and taste haha

Ah, this one had great frying aroma, crispy, and I really loved it ㅠㅠ!!

Hwajeon (flower rice cake). This was my first time trying hwajeon, and rather than tasting the flower itself, it felt more like eating sweet rice cake.. I genuinely enjoyed this one haha

The videos kept changing continuously ㅜㅜ who's the person choosing these..? The taste was insane..!

How is the hanwoo grilled tableside?

The meat is all grilled right in front of you haha

Side dishes that go perfectly with the hanwoo.. they were so delicious we got a refill and ate more haha;;

Shrimp meat went up first. It was grilled to just the right doneness, and after one bite you can ask for it to be grilled more or less!

They cut it into perfect bite-size pieces for us.. it was genuinely grilled so well ㅠㅠ They also made light small talk so the atmosphere never felt awkward and flowed nicely.

Especially this wasabi with what looked like flying fish roe.. even I, who can't handle spicy food, piled it on and asked for a refill it was so insanely good.. definitely try it..

The mushrooms too.. they were grilled really crisp so when you bite in the juices burst out.. savory with just the right chew ㅠㅠ

The meat kept getting grilled all the way through at the pace we were eating! Total omakase vibes, right?

The meat quality was insane. It melted in your mouth and each cut had a slightly different chew and aroma. It felt a shame to see each bite disappear ㅠㅠ Once you finish, you can order more meat or side dishes too! We were fuller than expected so we asked for dessert right away.

Dessert: pear sherbet ice cream

An ice cream with such a cute feel ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ the container was so cute.. it was a sherbet-style ice cream made from grated pear.

It tasted like that famous Ttang-X-Boy pear flavor everyone knows, but with a stronger pear aroma and a thicker, richer texture. It was so good we finished it in a flash haha

How was it as an anniversary date?

For anyone in Suwon's Ingye-dong looking for a good-atmosphere omakase spot for an anniversary or birthday, I confidently recommend this place. In particular, since the hanwoo omakase is grilled right in front of you, it was easy to eat and great for conversation.. After finishing all the various bite-size dishes too, I was full and it was just right. For hanwoo omakase in Suwon, I recommend Woowine in Ingye-dong💕💕
