Why Yeoyejeong for lunch after checking out of Solbeach Yangyang
Yeoyejeong is a meat restaurant at 49 Ssangsolbaegi-gil, Seo-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, about 20 minutes by car from Solbeach Yangyang. We finished checkout at 11am and it was exactly lunchtime, so we headed straight over.
You know that feeling after playing hard in Yangyang, when checkout suddenly drags you back to reality and your body feels even more tired? Haha 😂

What you need at a time like this? Hot broth and a solid bowl of rice!
So we went looking for a good spot — Yeoyejeong in Yangyang
It's close to Solbeach Yangyang too, so it's easy to stop by for lunch right after checkout.

Where Yeoyejeong is in Yangyang, and parking
Yeoyejeong is a meat restaurant tucked in a quiet Yangyang village. Meat lovers, pay attention!!!

Along with charcoal-grilled meat, they also have hearty lunch specials — meat sotbap (hot-pot rice), sotbap kimchi jjigae, and sotbap galbitang.

The indoor tables are spaced generously, so it looks great for family or group visits.

There's a big parking lot in front, so parking was easy too.
How to drive from Solbeach Yangyang to Yeoyejeong
It's about 20 minutes by car from Solbeach Yangyang to Yeoyejeong. We moved right after checkout, and the route worked perfectly for lunch.
After swimming in the sea and wandering around Yangyang, our bodies had been craving hot broth since morning… 🤣

If you had raw fish or seafood the day before, a warm soup dish makes a great lunch the next day. You can't eat seafood every single meal just because you're in Yangyang, right? Haha
To wrap up a trip, you need hot, hot broth to recover your energy!
Ordering the galbitang pot rice lunch special
What we ordered was Yeoyejeong's lunch special sotbap galbitang!!

It came out as a full spread — hot galbitang (rib soup) plus pot rice — and just looking at it felt filling. The galbitang broth was warm and comforting, exactly what you want after a trip, seriously ㅠㅠㅠ
Best of all, there were plenty of ribs, so fishing them out of the soup was genuinely fun. You know how some places call it galbitang but you end up playing hide-and-seek for the ribs in the broth?

Yeoyejeong's sotbap galbitang has plenty of meat in it, so none of that hassle here 😆
How fluffy is Yeoyejeong's pot rice?
The galbitang was great, but the sotbap (hot-pot rice) that came with it was just as impressive.

The moment you open the lid, hot steam rises up, and the rice was cooked perfectly fluffy — delicious on its own. Once I scooped some into a bowl and had it with the galbitang broth, my spoon just kept going haha.
A sip of broth, a bite of meat, a spoonful of pot rice… it's such a simple loop, but somehow it made me so happy.
At this point my spoon had really earned its keep, working hard to shake off the trip fatigue haha

Kkakdugi radish kimchi with the galbitang
When eating galbitang, something matters just as much as the meat and broth — one thing you absolutely can't skip. That's kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi)!

A bite of hot galbitang followed by crunchy kkakdugi hits the perfect balance. Yeoyejeong's kkakdugi paired really well with the galbitang, and eating them together was genuinely fun.
When a galbitang restaurant's kkakdugi is good, it just boosts your trust in the place, am I right? Haha. The balance between broth, rice, and kkakdugi was so on point that I could finish the whole bowl happily.
Finishing with hot nurungji (scorched rice tea)
The real charm of Yeoyejeong's sotbap comes after you've scooped out all the rice, right?

Pour hot water into the pot, wait a bit, then open it up to find perfectly nutty nurungji (scorched rice) waiting. My stomach was already full, but there was no way I was skipping nurungji.

Ordering sotbap and skipping the nurungji is like watching a movie and leaving right before the ending, haha 😂 Finishing the meal with warm, nutty nurungji made all the fatigue from the trip melt away!!

Warming up with galbitang and wrapping up comfortably with nurungji — that satisfaction of having eaten a truly proper meal!!
Is Yeoyejeong a good last meal of a Yangyang trip?
Yeoyejeong isn't far from Solbeach Yangyang, so it was easy to stop by for lunch right after checkout. Plenty of ribs, fluffy pot rice, kkakdugi that pairs perfectly with galbitang, and warm nurungji to finish!
We wrapped up our Yangyang trip with a hot, hearty last meal. On a day when you're worn out from water play and sightseeing and want something warm and different from raw fish or seafood, head to Yeoyejeong for the sotbap galbitang!!!

Next time I want to come for dinner and try the charcoal-grilled meat too haha. Already planning the next dish while eating galbitang…
Ending a trip with a food plan really is the best way to do it 😋
