My husband and I visited Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch (비비삼 과천본점) for a weekend lunch. It specializes in bibimbap made with torryeom-style rice, and we had namul bibimbap, dolsot nakji albap, and Korean beef tteokgalbi. Our favorite dish was the namul bibimbap.

Where is Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch, and how does parking work?
The address is Unit 101, 1F, 10-13 Saesulmak-gil, Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. The original post listed its hours as 11 AM to 10 PM, with last orders at 8:30 PM.

You can use the paid public street parking lot behind the restaurant. The rates listed in the original post were ₩900 for the first 30 minutes and ₩400 for every additional 10 minutes.

How were the weekend lunch wait and seating?
When we arrived at around 1 PM on a weekend, there were three parties ahead of us. Turnover was quick, so we got in after about 10 minutes. Foods sold outside were posted, which made it easy to choose while waiting.

The restaurant was neat. It was not especially large inside, but there seemed to be enough two- and four-person tables. The restaurant introduction says the setup works for solo diners, office-worker lunches, and family meals, and the seating looked manageable for a solo visit too.

How do ordering and food collection work?
We ordered through the kiosk at our table. Once the alert sounded after payment, we collected our food from the pickup counter and returned our dishes to the return counter ourselves after eating.

How much are the bibimbap sets?
There were sets that paired bibimbap with Korean pork or Korean beef tteokgalbi. At the time of our visit, set prices ranged from ₩12,500 to ₩16,500 depending on the combination. The restaurant information stated that it uses Korean beef, Korean pork, and domestic rice.

We ordered set meals. The prices recorded in the original post were ₩13,500 for the namul bibimbap set and ₩16,500 for the nakji albap set.

What is available at the self-service bar?
We helped ourselves to soup and side dishes at the self-service bar. There were miso soup, baekkimchi (white kimchi), and sesame oil, as well as a water dispenser, aprons, dental floss, and mouthwash.

Seaweed flakes and wet wipes were set out on the table.

What did the namul bibimbap and dolsot nakji albap taste like?
The food came out quickly. The bibimbap and tteokgalbi were neatly arranged on a tray.

Why was the namul bibimbap our favorite?
The namul bibimbap was topped with colorful seasoned vegetables. The rice had been prepared torryeom-style and seasoned already, with no separate plain white-rice option. Following the instruction to mix it with chopsticks, I found the rice pleasantly separate and firm.

I usually prefer dolsot bibimbap, but the namul bibimbap was my favorite here. Each vegetable retained its own flavor, and the seasoning suited my taste. My husband and I both ranked it first among what we ate that day for its nutty flavor.
How spicy and textured was the dolsot nakji albap?
The dolsot nakji albap was generously topped with nakji (octopus). The seasoned rice came together with plump octopus and popping fish roe. The octopus was not tough and had a pleasant chew. Its lightly spicy savoriness, with a note of pepper, felt different from the usual nakji bibimbap I have tried.

Did the Korean beef tteokgalbi go well with bibimbap?
The Korean beef tteokgalbi was topped with a soft-cooked egg, and the inside was moist with juices. The yolk and sauce worked well with the tteokgalbi, making it a good accompaniment to bibimbap. The portion also felt generous for two people.

There was a wait at weekend lunch, but we did not wait long on the day we visited, and the nutty flavor of the namul bibimbap stayed with me most. Next time, I would like to try the yukhoe bibimbap too.
