Shabu-shabu restaurant in Buk, Daegu with unlimited draft beer: Shabu20

When I was craving shabu-shabu, I went to Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch (샤브20 대구복현점) for a weekday dinner. I could pick out the meat and vegetables I wanted, and the unlimited draft beer also caught my attention.

Where is this shabu-shabu restaurant near Daegu Airport, and how much is it?

Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch is on the first floor at 79 Gonghang-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu, near Daegu Airport. At the time of the original post, it was listed as open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, with last orders at 20:50. Prices were ₩22,900 for weekday lunch and ₩26,900 for weekday dinner, weekends, and public holidays. Naver reservations were also available.

Was parking convenient when visiting by car?

There were spacious parking lots in front of and behind the restaurant, making it easy to visit by car. I did not have to worry much about parking on this visit.

Is there space for families or groups?

The restaurant was spacious and tidy. There was plenty of space between tables, so it seemed suitable for family gatherings or groups.

There was a rack for outerwear, as well as high chairs, children's tableware, and phone stands. Disposable mouthwash, hair ties, and dental floss were also provided near the restroom, which felt thoughtful.

What comes with the all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu?

Along with beef and pork, I could have unlimited vegetables, mushrooms, ingredients for Vietnamese spring rolls, and self-bar dishes. I was happy with the variety of vegetables, and the meat looked fresh. There were also ingredients for finishing with juk (rice porridge) or kalguksu (knife-cut noodles).

There was also a wide range of sauces, so I could choose sauces to dip in according to my taste.

Was draft beer unlimited on a weekday evening?

When I visited on a weekday evening, draft beer was also unlimited. My boyfriend, who had driven, was disappointed that he could not drink beer and said we should come back another time.

What did I enjoy most from the meal?

I added plenty of vegetables, mushrooms, and meat to the pot and let it cook. The smell of shabu-shabu rising as the ingredients cooked made me eager to eat.

I like ssukgat (crown daisy), so I added plenty of it. I liked being able to take as much of my favorite ingredients as I wanted.

Besides shabu-shabu, there were foods such as tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), chicken, and fruit. The tteokbokki and chicken especially suited my taste.

How did I finish the meal and dessert?

I prefer kalguksu to juk, so I finished with kalguksu. For dessert, I had soft ice cream, which I already like.

There was a coffee machine and a variety of ice-cream toppings. As I was leaving after the meal, a staff member kindly told me that I could put coffee or ice cream into a disposable cup to take away. The self-bar dishes also felt neatly kept, and I was satisfied with everything from the meal through dessert.
