Korean lash lift with a tight curl in Magok, Seoul: Mio Brow Bar

In short

Mio Brow Bar is a lash lift and brow studio on Yangcheon-ro in Gangseo, Seoul, near Magok and Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station. The writer, who books a lash lift every two months, had a rod chosen to suit her eye shape and went for a tight lash-curler curl, and the taping and solution at Mio Brow Bar felt so gentle she dozed off mid-treatment. The session ran 50 minutes to 1 hour and left her eyes looking lined even bare-faced.

Why a lash lift every two months?

I get my lash lift redone every two months like clockwork. Right on schedule, my curl started to loosen up again and it was time for a redo. I really don't know where the time goes. I say this every time, but the difference between having a lash lift and not having one is subtle — no, actually pretty huge.

The best part is not having to bother with an eyelash curler during a rushed morning makeup routine. There's also no risk of lashes getting pulled out or snapped while curling, and even bare-faced my eyes look noticeably more defined and vivid. It's all upsides, so there's no reason not to do it — it's one of my essential beauty routines. This time I went to Mio Brow Bar, known for its excellent lash lifts near Magok and Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station.

Where is Mio Brow Bar, and what is the studio like?

Mio Brow Bar is located near Magok and Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station, so accessibility was excellent. It's convenient to reach by public transit and easy to find, so even on my first visit I got there in one go without getting lost.

Being inside a building gave the place a clean, pleasant feel right away. When I stepped inside, the director greeted me very warmly. The overall interior was neatly and tastefully decorated, and the treatment area itself was kept spotless, which gave me confidence that I could trust the hygiene of the place.

One-on-one consultation: choosing the right rod

Before starting the treatment, Mio Brow Bar's director had a thorough 1:1 consultation with me. She carefully checked my eye shape, my usual makeup style, and the current length and condition of my lashes. She asked in detail whether I preferred a dramatic curl that lifts sharply upward without touching my eyelid, or a rounder C-curl that curls naturally upward from the root. I asked for a bold buera curl — defined but not overwhelming — and she selected a rod that suited my eye shape perfectly for the treatment.

What is a Korean lash lift like, step by step?

A comfortable, irritation-free lash lift process

After the consultation, I lay down on the prepared private bed and the treatment began in earnest. The bed was so warm and cozy that I felt relaxed the whole time. At places where the solution is too strong or the technique isn't skilled, you sometimes get stinging eyes or uncomfortable pulling around the eyes from the taping — but at Mio Brow Bar, the director's touch was extremely delicate and precise.

From the taping around the eyes to applying the solution and fixing the rods, everything was done so carefully and gently that I barely felt any irritation on my skin or eyes. In the relaxed atmosphere I even dozed off for a bit, and before I knew it the treatment was done. The whole thing took about 50 minutes to an hour.

Before and after: how the tight curl turned out

The moment I checked the mirror after the treatment, I couldn't help but gasp. Lashes that had been messy, drooping, and tangled were now lifted precisely upward, strand by strand, without any shadow or mascara. With the lashes no longer covering my eyes, my eyes looked much brighter and clearer, and even bare-faced it felt like my eyes were as defined as if I'd drawn eyeliner.

The curl went up in a smooth, even arc with no kinks or twisting, and I was 200% satisfied. After the treatment, she also gave me lash nutrient care tips, advice on how to maintain the curl longer, and even a cute little lash brush — a thoughtful touch right to the end. If you're looking for a meticulous lash lift spot near Magok or Yangcheon Hyanggyo that lifts your lashes without damage, I strongly recommend Mio Brow Bar.
