Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae is an 80-seat budae jjigae (army stew) restaurant in Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju, near Heyri Art Village and Provence Village. Visiting as a walk-in after lunch hour, the writer sat at a window seat overlooking greenery and ordered the basic budae jjigae for two (₩22,000) with an added ramyeon noodle sarry, plus enjoyed the unlimited side-dish self-bar and free dedicated parking. A budae jjigae spot near Heyri Art Village, Paju
Today I want to recommend a great-value restaurant for whenever you're out in Paju getting fresh air, wandering the outlets, and start feeling hungry. It's budae jjigae (army stew) — not too sharp but deeply flavorful and comforting, the kind of dish everyone from kids to grandparents loves without fail.
This is my review of Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae, near Heyri Village and Provence Village in Paju, where I enjoyed a clean, mild budae jjigae until I was stuffed, all while looking out through a huge window at lush greenery!

Location and parking
It's very close to Paju's signature attractions, Heyri Village and Provence Village, making it a super convenient stop on a drive.

An 80-seat dining hall, window-front seats
Walking in, I was greeted by a spacious, clean, well-kept hall. With room for about 80 seats and generous spacing between tables, it's an ideal setup for family meals or group gatherings.

We visited during a quiet stretch just after lunch hour and grabbed seats right in front of the huge window, where lush greenery was visible outside. Eating in natural light with that green view made the meal feel even more relaxed and pleasant.
We came in as walk-ins without a reservation and got seated right away with no wait. If you're planning to visit during weekend peak hours or with a large group, booking ahead will make things go more smoothly.

Unlimited side-dish self-bar
Another thing that stood out was the neatly arranged self-bar off to one side of the restaurant. The basic side dishes — seasoned bean sprouts and stir-fried fish cake — were delicious, and I loved that you could freely refill these tasty sides as much as you wanted.

There's a smart ordering system set up well — a kiosk at the entrance and QR codes installed at each table for easy ordering.

Menu and prices
The basic set for two people is priced very reasonably and comes with generous portions (rice included).
- Budae jjigae (for 2): ₩22,000
- Spicy budae jjigae (for 2): ₩24,000
- Aged kimchi budae jjigae (for 2): ₩26,000
- Hot plate dakgalbi (for 2): ₩30,000
- Ramyeon noodle add-on: ₩1,000
Even uncooked takeout orders come well packed, making it great to enjoy at home or while camping.

They have a varied lineup of budae jjigae, from the classic version you can eat with peace of mind, to aged kimchi budae jjigae, spicy budae jjigae, and beef brisket budae jjigae. On top of that, they also offer side dishes like hot plate dakgalbi and tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties) that kids and families tend to love.

Crunchy bean sprouts and stir-fried fish cake from the self-bar

We ordered the most representative menu item, the basic budae jjigae for two, and added a ramyeon noodle sarry (₩1,000)!

Basic budae jjigae for two at ₩22,000 — how's the broth?
This is the classic budae jjigae with a clean, refreshing broth (₩22,000 for 2). The large hot pot arrived generously loaded with sausage, bacon, ground meat, and vegetables.

As the broth bubbled away, I took the first spoonful — and it wasn't the kind of sharp broth heavy with MSG flavor. It was deep, but mild and refreshing, without any lingering heaviness.

It's the kind of clean flavor that settles your stomach comfortably, and mixed into rice, it was seriously addictive — a true rice thief.

Ramyeon noodles, the perfect partner for budae jjigae
After fishing out most of the sausage and other ingredients, we dropped the ramyeon noodles into the rich, bubbling broth.
The mild broth soaked right into the noodles, and slurping them up was seriously fun.

Why I'd recommend this as a stop on a Paju outing
Eating until I was completely full at such an affordable price, I really felt firsthand that this is one of the best-value budae jjigae restaurants in Paju. The main dish alone makes for a complete, satisfying meal, and I'm 200% coming back. If you're looking for dakgalbi in Paju, they actually have hot plate dakgalbi here too! I'll have to try that next time!
Mom's Uijeongbu Budaejjigae is very close to Paju's core attractions — Paju Premium Outlets, Heyri Art Village, Provence Village, and Paju Book City. It's a great stop after shopping at the outlets or taking a walk around Heyri Village.
A mild, comforting broth that's easy on the stomach! A great-value Paju restaurant with generous portions and a window-view seating area to boot. If you're looking for a home-style, great-value restaurant on a trip to Paju, I highly recommend visiting without hesitation.
