Paju brunch date with truffle crab pasta: Mokushura Table

In short

Mokushura Table is a large brunch café in Heyri, Paju, Gyeonggi, where you can enjoy a garden, library, and meal in one place. My husband and I slowly enjoyed a two-person set with salad, truffle crab pasta, Margherita pizza, and drinks for under ₩50,000. Verdict: the truffle crab pasta alone makes Mokushura Table worth another visit.

A weekday date in Paju Heyri, off to Mokushura Table

My husband unexpectedly had time on a weekday, so we headed to Heyri for a Paju date, just the two of us, for the first time in a while. We wondered where to go, and Mokushura Table (모쿠슈라 테이블), which had such a lovely atmosphere when I visited with the kids before, came to mind.

It is a large Paju café where you can linger from the garden to the library, so this time we decided to take our time and enjoy it together. Since we could have a Heyri brunch with a two-person set and I also wanted to try the Heyri pasta I had been curious about since last time, we went back without hesitation.

A spacious place with a garden and library

Mokushura Table exterior and surrounding area

Mokushura Table was a place where I really loved the atmosphere inside and out on my previous visit, too. Since it was a weekday, we could park nearby without a rush, but on weekends it is better to park as soon as you spot a space in Heyri and walk in.

Mokushura Table outdoor garden

The outdoor garden is why I especially like this place among Paju’s many large cafés.

Tables and walking paths blend into the lush green garden, and the weather was lovely that day, so I was already in a good mood on the way in. Even when you come for a meal, it gives you the unhurried feeling of a little trip, making it a great fit for a Paju date.

Beside the dining area, there is also a library where you can take a break with a drink. Sitting in the book-filled space, I thought that next time I would like to bring a favorite book, do absolutely nothing, and read for a while. It is perfect for savoring a delicious Heyri brunch and spending time reading, especially when you want to enjoy a leisurely weekday.

Back inside Mokushura Table, the first floor opens onto floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden.

The green scenery looks so pretty here too, almost as though you have stepped into a glass greenhouse.

It is generously sized, and the space continues all the way up to the third floor, so the description “large Paju café” really fits.

We went up to the second floor, which we have liked for a long time.

Second-floor seating at Mokushura Table

There is a particularly nice area when you visit with children: a play space behind the seats means parents can sit and rest while the kids play nearby.

There is also a separate area for drawing or reading, which makes this another large Paju café that is great for families.

But that day, it was just my husband and me, without the kids, so it felt different again. We quietly chatted and enjoyed our Paju date at an easy pace; it was the same space, but it gave me a different feeling from before.

Heyri brunch with a two-person set

What caught my eye at the kiosk was the two-person set. It includes salad, pasta, pizza, and two drinks, and I liked that it came to under ₩50,000. It did not feel burdensome for two people having Heyri brunch, and it was convenient not to have to choose every menu item separately.

Even the salad that arrived first was more substantial than I expected. I assumed the basic salad included in the set would be light, but the vegetables were fresh and the portion was quite generous.

The fragrant dressing suited my taste well too, so I was satisfied even before the main Heyri pasta arrived.

The truffle crab pasta I want to eat again

And the dish that completely hit the spot that day was the truffle crab pasta. The rich truffle aroma rose up the moment it was set on the table, and when we tasted it, my husband and I both said it was delicious at the same time. A little oil pooled beneath it, and I wanted to scrape up every last bit of that sauce.

There was a good amount of crab meat too, with a pleasantly chewy bite that paired well with the deep truffle flavor.

It stood out even among the Heyri pastas I have had so far, so I decided this was an absolute reorder when we come back with the kids. My husband immediately claimed it for next time too, which says it all.

If you are wondering what Heyri brunch dish to order at Mokushura Table, I would recommend the truffle crab pasta first. It was not heavy like a cream pasta, but the aroma was distinct, and I kept thinking about the flavor even after finishing it. If you are looking for pasta in Heyri, it is well worth trying.

Margherita pizza and pasta

The Margherita pizza we chose alongside it looked appetizing from the start too. Tomato and cheese came together over a simple crust, making it nice to alternate with the pasta, and there was plenty for two.

Being able to try salad, Heyri pasta, and pizza all at once made the two-person set feel like even better value.

Food in the brunch two-person set

We each had a refreshing drink according to our own tastes as well. Since we could slowly enjoy drinks rather than getting up as soon as we finished eating, another advantage is that there is no need to seek out a separate Heyri brunch spot and café.

Different charms for a family visit and a date for two

After your meal, you can walk through the garden or read in the library, then enjoy the relaxed atmosphere across the large three-story space, so it definitely has a charm different from an ordinary restaurant. That is why I think Mokushura Table is a large Paju café where even the time you spend lingering is lovely, not just the meal.

The play space was great when we came with the kids, and when I visited with only my husband, it became a quiet Paju date spot again. I think the charm here is that families and couples can each enjoy it in their own way.

In particular, the truffle crab Heyri pasta we had this time suited my taste perfectly, giving me one more reason to return. If you want to enjoy a delicious Heyri brunch and a large, atmospheric Paju café all in one go, Mokushura Table is a good choice. I think I will come back on our next Paju date, because I will be thinking about that pasta again.
