Goyang BBQ with free corn cheese and yukhoe: Baekseok Kkogijip
In short
Baekseok Kkogijip is a Korean BBQ restaurant in the Baekseok food alley in Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, where the staff grill the meat for you in the kitchen. I went with my mom and ordered the marinated pork (yangnyeom handon) single-serving set, which arrived fully grilled with kimchi stew and came with free corn cheese, beef tartare (yukhoe), doenjang stew and steamed egg. A review-event patbingsu (shaved ice) finished the meal, and we left without a trace of smoke smell.

Where's the best meat in town?! A Baekseok favorite that grills it all for you! I went with my mom to Baekseok Kkogijip. Friendly staff, no meat smell — a real Baekseok gem 👍🏻

Where to park at Baekseok Kkogijip
Baekseok Kkogijip sits inside the Baekseok food alley, so parking is tough. I'd recommend roadside parking in a nearby alley or the Baekseok public parking lot.

During happy time, ordering meat between 12–3pm lunch gets you icy naengmyeon (cold noodles) for just ₩1,000! ✔️ The lunch lineup is pretty solid too, haha.

Fully grilled in the kitchen: 15–20 minutes, so order extras early
This Baekseok favorite comes fully pre-grilled from the kitchen, so it takes about 15-20 minutes per order. The upside: if you order extras ahead of time, you won't have to wait.

Once you order, the basic side dishes come out — big shoutout to the wild garlic greens! The green onion salad pairs nicely with the meat too.

Corn cheese, yukhoe, doenjang stew and steamed egg come free
Here's why I recommend Baekseok Kkogijip as a Baekseok favorite: order meat and the free sides are seriously generous!! Look at all this corn cheese, beef tartare, doenjang stew, and steamed egg!?

The beef tartare comes with an egg yolk to pop and mix in, seasoned just right — I couldn't believe this was free, haha.

Places that serve corn cheese are rare, so I cleansed my palate with tartare and corn cheese before the meat arrived 👍🏻

You always end up ordering extra doenjang stew when eating meat, and this one is light rather than heavy — easy to eat.

The steamed egg — need I say more, haha. Fluffy and puffy and delicious.

The side dishes and instant noodles for the kimchi stew are unlimited, but even though I wanted more, the portions were small so I only managed to get through one.

The marinated pork single-serving set, with no smoke smell
Since the meat you order is fully pre-grilled in the kitchen, the restaurant barely smells of meat and there's no grilling process to worry about — you get to eat great meat super easily.

This is the portion you get with the marinated pork single-serving set. The marinade soaked in well, and the onions and mushrooms served alongside were grilled moist and perfect. Truly the work of a meat expert~
It was a cut with a good balance of fat and lean meat, and the base seasoning was so good it was great even eaten plain 👍🏻

I also wrapped it with wild garlic greens and lettuce — the base seasoning was already enough so I just ate it straight away without adding anything else.

The grill plate had a candle lit underneath to keep it warm and gently heated, and even by the time we'd nearly finished, the candle hadn't gone out!
Kimchi stew comes with the set, ramyeon noodles included
I wanted to eat the kimchi stew that comes with the marinated pork set alongside the meat, so I asked them to prepare it as soon as the meat came out — and the portion size was surprisingly huge!
Most people who come to this Baekseok favorite are here for a work dinner or family gathering with a drink or two, and the flavor pairs really well with alcohol.

I didn't drink, but I added one serving of instant noodles and ate it up thoroughly and satisfyingly, haha.

Old-style patbingsu from the review event to finish
Baekseok Kkogijip gives out old-style patbingsu (shaved ice dessert) as a review-event freebie, and there's no reason not to take it, haha. After all that great meat, a cool patbingsu made the meat, tartare, kimchi stew, and noodles all settle down nicely~~

The staff were friendly and grilled the meat perfectly, so if you're looking for a Baekseok Station favorite for a good meal with a drink, or just a great Baekseok BBQ spot, I recommend Baekseok Kkogijip 💕
