I had a lunch appointment near Hapjeong Station, so I visited Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch (생어거스틴 합정점), a popular spot in Mecenatpolis! It is easy to reach on foot from Hapjeong Station, and it is convenient even if you drive, making it a great choice for a lunch appointment.

It works nicely for lunch with friends, family meals, or group gatherings, and the menu ranges from pu pad pong curry to pad Thai and pho, so it was easy to choose something to suit everyone's tastes!

Getting there from Hapjeong Station and free parking

Saeng Augustine, a Mecenatpolis restaurant, is a five-minute walk from Exit 9 of Hapjeong Station. There is a parking lot in the basement of the Mecenatpolis building, so you can park comfortably before your meal. Free parking is another plus!

Saeng Augustine is on the B1 level of Mecenatpolis.

It is at the entrance to the Central Plaza Food Street, so it was easy to find even inside Mecenatpolis.

A spacious interior for gatherings and solo meals

Once I stepped inside, the space was larger than I expected. The tables did not feel too close together, and there were plenty of seats, so it was nice to eat at a relaxed pace.

There are various seating options for different party sizes, including tables for four, six, and 12, as well as separate private rooms.

It seemed well suited to larger occasions too, from family meals and lunch get-togethers with friends to work dinners and group gatherings.

When I visited, there were groups eating together, but I also noticed quite a few office workers having lunch alone. It had an atmosphere where you could comfortably come with others or enjoy a no-fuss meal by yourself.

A varied menu from pad Thai to pho

Looking at the menu, there were so many choices that it was hard to decide what to order. There are around 60 dishes, including pu pad pong curry, nasi goreng, tom yum goong, pho, and pad Thai.

There are also set menus for trying several dishes at a slightly more reasonable price.

The first dish I want to introduce is the king prawn pad Thai! I usually love pad Thai and order it often, and the large king prawns made it look appetizing from the start.

The soft, pleasantly chewy noodles had pad Thai's signature sweet-and-savoury flavor, the kind that keeps your chopsticks reaching back in!

Adding a king prawn brought in that bouncy shrimp texture too, making every bite feel much more substantial.

Khor moo yang

This meat dish really held its own among the noodle dishes!

One bite of the appetizingly grilled meat brought out a nutty, rich meaty aroma, with more of the meat's flavor coming through as I chewed.

The grilled flavor on the outside went well with the tender texture inside, and I kept reaching for more.

Vietnamese pho

As soon as I tasted the hot broth, it felt soothing in my mouth~

With the soft rice noodles, it went down easily without feeling heavy. Pho seems like a good option for a simple solo lunch, and also a nice dish to share alongside other orders when you visit with a group.

My thoughts as a lunch gathering spot

After visiting, I found that Saeng Augustine had not only good food but also the location and space that make a place good for gatherings. It was easy to reach by public transit, and it was convenient to drive too because parking is free.
