Hadong fried chicken takeout: spicy gizzard fritters at Jadam Chicken
In short
Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo is a fried chicken shop right beside Hwagae Market in Hadong, Gyeongnam, with outdoor tables and a chicken-cooking robot inside the store. For a late-night snack at a mountain guesthouse, the writer took away boneless fried chicken for 23,000 won and spicy gizzard fritters for 11,000 won, and the shop added two sauces plus a free 500ml cola. The boneless chicken uses 100% Korean chicken thigh, so it stayed tender even after it cooled.

Hi, I'm Nyeori! I went on a trip to Hadong recently. Our guesthouse was up in the mountains, so we had to buy food in advance haha. While I was deciding what to get for a late-night snack, I saw reviews saying Jadam Chicken in Hadong was good, so I went with it. Let's get into the review!

Where is Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo, and what's nearby?

Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo — the name literally means "chicken that holds nature" — sits right next to Hwagae Market, so it's a great stop after looking around the market. There's also a Lotte Super nearby, so it was convenient to grab groceries and pick up chicken before heading to the guesthouse. I found out the owner also runs a kkwabaegi (twisted doughnut) shop called Dalin Kkwabaegi! Apparently it's good enough to have been featured on a TV show about food masters.

Outdoor tables or indoor seats at Jadam Chicken Hadong?
Jadam Chicken Hadong has outdoor tables! The weather's starting to cool down a bit, which is perfect for chicken and beer outside. If you're looking for an outdoor drinking spot in Hadong, this is it! There's also a table big enough for groups, so it'd be great if you're visiting with a bunch of people for drinks.

There are also about 4 indoor tables, kept nice and clean.

What we ordered and what it cost: boneless chicken 23,000 won, gizzard fritters 11,000 won
We placed a takeout order in advance so we could just grab it and go as soon as we arrived! I liked that Jadam Chicken lets you switch to boneless for just an extra ₩2,000. Here's what I ordered:
- Boneless fried chicken ₩23,000
- Spicy gizzard fritters ₩11,000
They also sell a variety of sides like cheese balls, fritters, and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), which go well with the chicken.
The chicken-cooking robot inside Jadam Chicken Hadong
Jadam Chicken Hadong Hwagaejangteo has a chicken-cooking robot inside the store. It was my first time seeing a place with one of these, and it was so fascinating! I heard fewer than 10 stores nationwide use this chicken-cooking robot. Since the robot fries at a set time and temperature, you get chicken cooked at exactly the right time and temperature every time!

They also sell kkwabaegi (twisted doughnuts) on one side, and apparently they only sell what's made fresh that day. I wanted to buy some to eat too, but there was already so much food for just the two of us, so I held back... ㅠㅠ My mom would absolutely love these — she'd have grabbed one the second she saw it, haha.

Ta-da! They packed everything up so neatly, it was easy to carry.

How do the spicy gizzard fritters taste? We opened the box in the car
Spicy gizzard fritters, ₩11,000. I lost to the smell. I ended up opening the box in the car and eating gizzards on the spot. It was my first time trying Jadam Chicken's spicy gizzard fritters, and they were seriously a hidden gem — crispy outside, chewy inside, total beer food. I felt like I was going to finish the whole thing right there, so I calmed myself down and managed to bring the rest safely to the guesthouse.

Two free sauces and a free 500ml cola with every takeout order
Time for the real unboxing! They gave us two types of sauce — honey mustard dressing and a seasoning sauce — plus a free 500ml cola. These days you often have to pay extra for sauce and cola, so Jadam Chicken Hadong is seriously the best.

The visuals are amazing ㅠ,ㅠ It looks so crispy and delicious!

100% chicken thigh: boneless chicken even bone-in fans will like
I'm usually a bone-in-only kind of person when it comes to chicken, but Jadam Chicken's boneless option uses 100% domestic chicken thigh, so it's tender and never dry! You have to get the boneless at Jadam Chicken.

It's brined with Himalayan salt and coated in a batter containing nuts and grains, so the seasoning is just right and the coating is super crispy.

The boneless pieces were big and chunky, and since it's 100% chicken thigh, every bite was juicy no matter which part you got ㅠ,ㅠ Why is Hadong Jadam so good?? I'm jealous of the people who live in Hadong.

Dip it generously in the sauce too. Since we ate it as a late-night snack, it had cooled off a bit, but it was still tasty even cold ㅠㅠ

Is 11,000 won good value? Portion size and spice level of the gizzard fritters
Even after eating gizzards in the car, there was still a huge portion left! At ₩11,000, it's an absolute steal.

It's not very spicy — just a little kick, so you don't get tired of it. It's perfect! I highly recommend ordering the gizzards along with the chicken!
Maybe because the robot fries everything at a precise temperature and time, this Hadong Jadam Chicken was seriously delicious. Next time I'll have to go to the store to try it fresh off the fryer.
