Remodeled Cheonan BBQ with samgyeopsal for two: Cham Dwaejitgan

In short

Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is a pork belly restaurant in Dujeong-dong, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam, serving domestic grade-1 pork. After a remodel the dining room is clean and roomy enough for both team dinners and family meals, and on this visit the order was two servings of Boseong green pork cham samgyeopsal (16,000 won each), cheonjeopsal (19,000 won), fried rice and Jirisan kudzu cold noodles, with staff grilling every piece from start to finish. Potato slices and minari (water dropwort) come with the basic table setting, and the mouthwash and dental floss on the way out show how carefully Cham Dwaejitgan looks after guests.

When you're in a low mood, head straight for the meat !!!

It'd been a while since I craved some good pork belly with my husband, so we went to Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch. Even though it's a BBQ place, the restaurant was really clean and pleasant, and that first impression won me over right away. Best of all, the staff grilled the meat from start to finish for us, so we could just relax and enjoy the meal. Here's my honest review 〰️

Where do you park at Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch?

Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is a domestic grade-1 pork belly specialist, and there's no dedicated parking lot — you use the space in front of the restaurant. We'd just finished working out and were so hungry we basically ran in .. Since there aren't many parking spots, I'd recommend calling ahead to check space before you go!

Inside the remodeled dining room and restrooms

Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch had only just reopened after a renewal, so everything felt clean and fresh. The space is spacious enough for group gatherings or company dinners, but also works great for family meals or date nights. For reference, the women's restroom is inside the restaurant for easy access, while the men's restroom is outside the building.

  • Boseong green pork cheonjeopsal ₩19,000
  • Fried rice ₩3,000

We went back and forth between Jirisan black pork and Boseong green pork, but since I really love hangjeongsal (pork jowl), we ended up ordering the Boseong green pork cham samgyeopsal and cheonjeopsal.

Basic table setting with potato slices and minari

The basic table setting at Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is a generous set of potato slices, king oyster mushroom, minari, seasoned bean sprouts and kimchi. There were also a variety of sauces to go with the meat, which made picking and choosing fun.

Basic table setting including potato slices and minari
Assortment of sauces to pair with the meat
Generous portions of kimchi and seasoned bean sprouts

Personally, I have a real soft spot for BBQ places that give you potato slices and minari, so the moment I saw the setup, I mentally shouted "pass!" The kimchi wasn't a stingy little portion either — they gave us what looked like a solid quarter head, haha. The staff member even cut it into bite-sized pieces for us so it was easy to enjoy.

Meat and minari cooking on the charcoal grill
Milk thistle shot served alongside soju

Rice-husk smoke, charcoal aroma and a free milk thistle drink

Cham Dwaejitgan smokes the meat over rice husks and grills over charcoal, so the pork picks up a subtle, clean smoky flavor. The grill plate is also designed so the fat naturally flows down to one side, which is perfect for cooking minari, kimchi and bean sprouts in that fat. And when my husband ordered his favorite soju, they threw in a milk thistle shot, haha. He said this definitely had to go on the blog and even struck a pose for the photo .. ^^

How the Boseong green pork samgyeopsal and cheonjeopsal tasted

Finally our meat arrived, and it won me over on looks alone 🐽✨ The samgyeopsal was really thick-cut, and the cheonjeopsal had tight, gorgeous marbling with a pale pink color that looked amazing. Even before it hit the grill, I couldn't help but get excited.

And since the staff grilled it carefully from start to finish, all we had to do was chat and eat — couldn't ask for more, haha.

Signature wrap combo with meat on a potato slice

The signature wrap combo at Cham Dwaejitgan

With so many wrap veggies and sauces to mix and match, every bite of meat felt fresh and different, never boring. The staff told us the restaurant's signature wrap combo is potato slice + meat + mushroom wasabi + garlic scape, so I tried it that way and took a big bite. The crisp, fluffy potato, the juicy meat, and the sharp mushroom wasabi and garlic scape all came together so well I couldn't stop nodding. Definitely try this combo if you visit!!!

Fried rice being cooked directly on the grill by staff

Finishing with fried rice and kudzu cold noodles

Can't skip the fried rice! The staff cook that up carefully for you too, haha. It's so nutty and delicious that skipping fried rice after the meat would feel like a real loss .. and finishing with the cool cold noodles cut right through the grease — meal complete!

Mouthwash, dental floss and candy set out at the counter

Right up until we walked out the door, the thoughtfulness kept impressing me .. by the counter, they had mouthwash, dental floss and even candy for a fresh finish. Being able to enjoy delicious meat and leave feeling clean showed just how detail-oriented the owner is.

Between the quality of the meat, the clean interior, and the attentive service, Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch was thoroughly satisfying. If you're looking for a BBQ place where staff grill everything for you from start to finish, or a can't-go-wrong samgyeopsal spot in Dujeong-dong, definitely give it a try. You'll have a great time with delicious meat!
