Yaksamgol Garden is a duck barbecue restaurant in Yagmok, Chilgok, Gyeongbuk. At a reserved outdoor table, I grilled a whole duck on a preheated stone griddle, then enjoyed kimchi, fried rice, and roasted sweet potato. Verdict: the view-and-duck combination made me want to come back.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed the Cheomseongdae Seven-Dish Set and towering steamed egg beside a window view of traditional houses. A lovely stop for getting into the Gyeongju travel mood.
Tareudang is a takeout-only handmade fruit mochi café in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk. I packed two peach mochi and one kiwi mochi after the mango sold out, and they stayed juicy and springy all the way home to Busan. Verdict: Tareudang is a lovely sweet-and-tangy dessert to pick up after a Hwangridan-gil walk.
