Today Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop Jeju Branch is a Jeju dessert and souvenir shop on the first floor of Shilla Duty Free in Yeondong, Jeju City, open daily from 10:00 to 19:00. Inside the orange-toned store, the writer chose a Harubangne 8-piece gift set and two Harubang Sand cookies (Udo peanut and Jeju citrus), then browsed basalt toothbrush holders, mother-of-pearl magnets and acrylic keyrings. Today Jeju is an easy one-stop for gift desserts and Jeju souvenirs together.

Jeju black pork BBQ restaurant with a bibim guksu finish: Pork80

Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch is a black pork BBQ restaurant on Noyeon-ro, a main road in Jeju City. On the last evening of a family trip we ordered 600g of raw black pork ribs, which the staff grilled at the table, and ate them with meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce), salt and ssamjang before finishing with bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles). Even at dinner time there was no wait for a table, and for the portion and the flavour Pork80 felt easy on the wallet — a place worth returning to on the next Jeju trip.

With a wide parking lot and a roomy dining hall, Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is an easy place to eat with a child before heading to the next stop.

Today Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop Jeju Branch is a bakery in Jeju City selling desserts and travel gifts modeled on Jeju's dol hareubang (stone grandfather statues). I boxed up an 8-piece set of Harubangne madeleines, and for the Harubang Sand I could pick my own mix of citrus juice and Udo peanut flavors in a set of 8–10. Worth a stop if you want cute, individually wrapped desserts as a Jeju souvenir.

Aewol black pork lunch set for 4 with two jjigae: Nopo Dwaeji Aewol

Brisket and 5 dipping sauces at Jeju beef restaurant Dolgyeok Hanwoo

Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant in Yeondong, Jeju City, about 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport. Manong galbisal (garlic short rib meat), hanwoo galbisal and dolgyeok chadolbaegi (beef brisket) were charcoal-grilled and eaten with five different sauces — salt, wasabi, wholegrain mustard, ssamjang and soy sauce — with free refills of miyeokguk (seaweed soup). Dedicated parking in front of the building and a public lot nearby make Dolgyeok Hanwoo an easy stop for rental car travelers.
