Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is a pork noodle and dombe-gogi restaurant in Jocheon-eup, Jeju. At 9 a.m., I had freshly boiled black pork, generous pork noodles, and spicy mixed pork noodles. Verdict: arrive hungry for a seriously filling meal.
Pyeongdae Alhi is a Western-style restaurant in Gujwa-eup, Jeju. On the last day of our trip, we enjoyed its sous-vide set with black pork steak, spicy Hallasan pasta, and a shrimp-loaded salad. Verdict: a satisfying stop for a relaxed meal amid green fields.

I photographed along rain-cleared stone walls and beneath a hackberry tree, then had 20 minutes for self-shooting with vintage props indoors. For photographs that hold Jeju’s natural texture, I recommend the hackberry tree snap.
Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant in Yeon-dong, Jeju, about 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport. For a final Jeju meal, I had garlic-marinated galbisal, hanging tender and a 15,000 won yukhoe bibimbap that felt like three servings. A satisfying airport-side beef meal.
Monocle Jeju is a gluten-free cake café in Namwon-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju. During a 4-night, 5-day family trip, we took away sweet pumpkin cheesecake, coffee, and an apple mango smoothie, and especially loved the spacious lawn and relaxed atmosphere. Verdict: a lovely café worth lingering over if you have the time.

We ordered the 59,000 won medium mixed braise with cutlassfish and mackerel, plus a complimentary whole grilled cutlassfish, sea-view seating, and self-serve seaweed soup. Verdict: a generous choice when you want grilled and braised cutlassfish together.
Happiness Pizza is a pizza restaurant across from Jeju Halla University in Jeju, Jeju. I ordered half black pork bulgogi pizza and half Happy Combination pizza, plus a salad, and loved the chewy handmade dough. A nice choice when you want an unusual pizza during a Jeju trip.
Dough Rider Pizza is a pizza restaurant in Ara-dong, Jeju, serving single wood-fired pizzas and oven pasta made with Jeju black pork. My husband and I ordered Lime Cilantro Shrimp Kick, Happy Creamy Corn, and black pork oven pasta for lunch, and loved the crisp-chewy crust and generous cheese. Verdict: A place I’d happily revisit for unusual pizzas and rich ragù pasta.

We ordered the 2-person mackerel wrap rice set for 36,000 won, with plump mackerel, well-fermented kimchi, wrap vegetables, and soy sauce marinated crab. Verdict: a filling Jeju-style fish meal with especially memorable mild mackerel and kimchi broth.
Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Bansang Jeju Iho Tewoo Branch is a Korean restaurant near Iho Tewoo Beach in Jeju. We enjoyed grilled mackerel and atka mackerel with our baby, ocean views, high chairs, and a self-service side-dish bar. Verdict: a great place to compare two crisp yet moist grilled fish dishes.
