Gangnam Station morning café with window seats: Something About Coffee
In short
Something About Coffee is a three-floor dessert café in the alley with the CGV building, between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul. A morning visit meant a floor-to-ceiling window seat on the 1st floor with matcha cream cold brew and lemon pound cake, plus a look at the 2nd-floor order counter and the 3rd-floor sofa seats and terrace, each floor with its own mood. Watching a slow Gangnam morning from the window made Something About Coffee a new favorite café.

Updating my list of good cafés in Gangnam.... I found a really friendly, delicious, and clean café and couldn't wait to post about it, so here it finally is.
Where is Something About Coffee? The alley between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station
Something About Coffee is in the alley near the CGV building, between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station.
There are several cafés gathered in this alley, so I've tried quite a few of them, but this is the one I like best out of all the cafés I've visited so far.

Order on the 2nd floor, with plenty of seats on every floor
Something About Coffee has three floors total. You order on the 2nd floor, and the photo above shows the 2nd-floor seating.
There are more seats than I expected, which is great because you can still get a table even during busy hours.

The 1st-floor window seats behind floor-to-ceiling glass
I sat on the 1st floor, where the floor-to-ceiling window gives a clear view of the Gangnam alley. The chairs are comfortable and the open view feels lush and green, even right in the middle of Gangnam.
The whole café is done up with a wood-toned interior, and the wood tones go really well with all the greenery. I especially loved how they used a mirror to reflect the street trees and fill the space with more green.

There's a kitchen on the 1st floor, but it doesn't really bother you. I actually liked it — it gave the space a cozier feel. Like the floor above, there are plenty of seats here too.

Sofa seats and the terrace on the 3rd floor
The 3rd floor has sofa chairs, so it feels really cozy. The spacing between tables is also wider than on the floors below, so if you prefer a relaxed atmosphere or want a nice spot for a date, the 3rd floor is a great choice.

There's also a terrace on the 3rd floor. Now that the weather has cooled down, I saw people sitting out there. The awning blocks enough sunlight that it looks like a great spot to chat in a cool breeze. The vibe is so, so good — it has an exotic terrace feel.

Compared to the other floors, the 3rd floor has a bit more of a private, quiet atmosphere. Having a slightly different mood on each floor is one of the charms of Something About Coffee.

What's in the dessert showcase, from cakes to baked treats
I once got a butter rice cake here to take away, and warming it up made it delicious. That's when I started thinking the desserts here were good, and coming back to try other things confirmed they're even better than I expected.

They have everything from cakes to baked snacks and bread. I also love that each bread item has a cover over it — very hygienic, which I appreciate a lot in a café.
I was torn between the fig cake and the lemon pound cake, but next time I'm definitely getting the fig.

How the matcha cream cold brew and lemon pound cake taste
I ordered the matcha cream cold brew and the lemon pound cake.
The matcha cream cold brew and lemon cake are seriously, seriously good, ugh. That day I felt so exhausted, like my body was dragging and my blood sugar was crashing, but the moment I took a bite it was like a little ding and I instantly perked back up... it genuinely felt like opening my eyes after having them closed.

On top of that, the staff member who took my order was so kind that it put me in a good mood from the morning onward. The drink and dessert were delicious, and I was so grateful to the friendly staff that the whole time at the café felt wonderful.

Watching Gangnam's relaxed morning atmosphere from a window with a bit of sunlight streaming in, I don't think I've found a more peaceful café than this. It's officially become my favorite.

After having the lemon pound cake here, I got hooked and tried lemon pound cakes at other cafés too, but none of them were this good, haha. The lemon is so, so refreshing and the pound cake is soft enough to melt in your mouth.
If you want to spend a happy time like this in Gangnam, make sure to visit Something About Coffee! Delicious desserts and a peaceful atmosphere are waiting for you.
