Gwangalli sushi restaurant date with pasta: Salmon Brothers

While looking for somewhere to eat on a date around Gwangalli, I heard there was a great salmon place and visited Salmon Brothers! 🍣 The name alone screams salmon specialty restaurant, but it has not only salmon sushi, but also pasta, steak, and a range of fusion dishes, so there were lots of choices! Above all, the restaurant was clean and adorably decorated, so it looked good for visiting with friends or for a date too ✨ From sushi and pasta to dessert and atmosphere, everything was perfect.

Salmon Brothers location and hours

It is on the second floor at 49 Gwangan-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan, a 7-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gwangan Station. It is open daily from 17:00 to 01:00; on Saturdays and Sundays, it opens from 12:00 to 01:00, with a break from 16:00 to 17:00. Last orders are at 00:00, and you can use the nearby paid Gwangan Signal Parking Tower.

The second-floor entrance and restaurant atmosphere

Salmon Brothers is on the second floor! Its own characters decorate the stairs leading up to the entrance, so I found myself looking at each one 👀 There are little posters on the walls, and green sake bottles lined up as decoration on one side of the stairs, giving it a distinctive vibe even before you enter!

The first thing that caught my eye as soon as I walked in was the huge bear plush sitting by the entrance! So cute 🐻

Further inside, there are several table seats, and the orange blinds and lighting create a warm atmosphere ✨ Rather than being overly dark or noisy, it felt quiet and ideal for eating and talking, so it seemed great for a date or having a drink with a friend over a meal!

You can order from a tablet at each table! Delivery is available too, so you can enjoy it at home as well haha.

The menu includes main dishes such as sashimi, salmon, and yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), plus signature dishes like pasta and gambas (garlic shrimp). There are lots of sides too, which would be nice with drinks 👍🏻

I ordered salmon sushi and pasta together! I also added fruit sherbet for dessert ✨

Half fresh salmon, half tataki sushi

The half fresh salmon/half tataki sushi arrived first! Isn't the salmon quality amazing? The pieces were huge too. At first, I considered ordering just six pieces of fresh salmon, but look at that tataki.... So glad I got the half-and-half!!!

As you can see in the photos, the salmon was piled on quite thickly, so its presence was unmistakable!! I tried the fresh salmon first, and the tender, moist texture unique to thick-cut salmon was the best... ✨ It felt like it melted gently in my mouth, so salmon lovers will definitely be satisfied.

Then I had a bite of the tataki sushi, with the salmon lightly seared! The outside was gently cooked while the inside retained salmon's soft texture, so it tasted distinctly different from the fresh salmon. Fresh salmon was mild and tender, while the tataki had a deeper flavor from the seared aroma and savory richness on the outside 👏🏻

Aglio e olio pasta and fruit sherbet

The aglio e olio pasta came generously filled with noodles and large shrimp, topped with arugula, parsley, and more for an overall clean presentation ✨ Its flavor centered on the mild, savory character of an oil-based pasta, with garlic and oil flavor well absorbed into the noodles for great umami. It was a good menu choice when salmon sushi alone felt a little lacking!

Last came the fruit sherbet I ordered for dessert! Served in a round scoop, it looked refreshing from the start 🍓 The strawberry's signature sweet-tart taste really came through, making it perfect for cleansing the palate after the meal! Especially after pasta or sushi, I think a cold, refreshing dessert like this is a great match 👏🏻

After the meal, they give you candies to refresh your palate and a cute logo sticker! Such a nice touch 👍🏻
