A Daejeon date spot? Location near Sungsimdang and parking

👀Located near Sungsimdang, Burgiz newly opened across from the Lifelong Learning Center.

It's open from 11am to 8:30pm, so it's worth checking before you visit. There's also parking at the building, which is good to know if you're driving❗
Inside Burgiz Daeheung and the self bar

The interior was bigger than I expected👌 I've been to several Burgiz locations — Eoeun-dong, Tanbang-dong, Gwanpyeong-dong — but none of them were as spacious as this Daeheung-dong location✌

Next to the counter there's a self bar where you can help yourself to sauce and water, plus a separate area for unlimited drinks. Once you order a drink, you don't need to ask again — just use the cup provided.
What's on the menu?

📍The menu ranges widely, from the signature Hangover, Godfather and Mushroom burgers on down. There are also fries and sides, and the prices were reasonable, which I liked.

Unlimited soda refills

We ordered one each of the Hangover, Avocado and Mushroom sets. They gave us ice cups first, so we grabbed our drinks from the self-serve zone. Being able to drink as much as we wanted was a big perk.
Avocado
The Avocado caught my eye with its creamy avocado and a big, juicy patty.

A whole strip of crispy bacon was tucked inside, which gave the burger great overall flavor and balance.
Hangover

The Hangover really delivered, with crispy hash brown, a soft-boiled egg, a thick patty and spicy barbecue sauce all together. It was packed with toppings, so the flavor ran deep.
Mushroom
Unlike the Avocado and Hangover, the Mushroom stood out for the combination of mozzarella-stuffed fried mushrooms and a patty full of meaty flavor. It's a signature with a distinctly different taste and texture, so I'd recommend trying it.
Three orders of original fries and extra sauce

Fries come included with the sets, with ketchup provided as standard. We added one each of garlic and cheese sauce.

The fries were crispy and the sweet, salty sauces went really well with them.

Getting a drink and fries included in the set price was amazing value. And if you run out of sauce, you can just grab more from the self bar, which was great.
Final thoughts
Burgiz, newly opened near Sungsimdang, is a great Daejeon date spot. True to its Daeheung-dong reputation, the quality was better than I expected and the prices were reasonable, which I liked.
You can also order takeout or delivery, so you can enjoy it comfortably at home too. I think I'll be back often. If you want high-quality food, you're looking for a Daeheung-dong restaurant in Daejeon, or you want reasonably priced options, I'd recommend giving this place a try haha 😄
