It had been a while since I’d been craving pizza, so we visited Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch! It’s a spot near Wirye Central Plaza where you can try original American-style pizza. My husband loves pizza, so we have Jackson Pizza now and then too, but this branch was especially delicious!

It’s located at Wirye Central Plaza, where there are so many great places to eat. Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch is famous among the restaurants around Wirye Central Plaza for its American-style pizza! Even the exterior had a wonderfully American feel.

We visited for Saturday lunch and made a reservation in advance. Even though we arrived after the main lunch rush, there were still quite a few customers! If you plan to dine in, I recommend reserving ahead.

Inside Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch

It genuinely felt like stepping into a pizza place in America! The waiting area for takeout customers and the dining area were separate, and everything was kept neat and clean.

Maybe because pizza is loved by all ages, there were lots of families visiting with young children.

Jackson Pizza, a popular pizza spot in Wirye-dong, says it thoroughly cleans its beer lines every day. Seeing the beer machine made me want one, but it was daytime, so I held back... haha.

What to know before ordering personal pizzas

After looking around the restaurant, it was time to order. First, we read through the dining information. Each table can refill its ranch sauce and pickles once, and they also provide one free bottle of water per person! Amazing.

Then we got serious about ordering. They had personal-size pizzas. Looking at the pizza boxes mounted on the wall made the size easy to understand. You get four slices, and it was a good size for one or two people!

We wanted to try several things, so we ordered a variety.

How the Super Jackson and Legend pizzas tasted

Officially approved as a great pizza spot in Wirye. Great American-style pizza, chicken tenders, and wings.

The water and our Coke came out first. The food takes about 20 minutes to prepare, so just relax and wait!

The pizzas came out first: the tomato-sauce-based Super Jackson and the basil-pesto-based Legend! More than anything, the golden-brown crust around the edge looked so delicious.

First up, the tomato-sauce-based Super Jackson!

It was loaded with aged tomato sauce, which they say is mixed in-house to a golden ratio, plus a variety of toppings including seasoned beef, sausage, and bacon. I thought a personal size would be one person’s portion, but the slices were bigger than expected... I ate two slices, and I was pretty full.

Next was the Legend, loaded with basil pesto! We ordered it to try a different flavor alongside the tomato-based pizza. It was packed with mozzarella, Grana Padano, Parmesan, and mascarpone cheese too!

Personally, though, I liked the Super Jackson much more. I found the combination of basil pesto and cheeses a little disappointingㅠ

We checked the table guide for the best way to eat it, then tried the pizzas in different ways with the included ranch sauce and pickles, plus hot sauce, Parmesan cheese powder, and crushed pepper.

And the included sauces were genuinely delicious, while the nicely browned pizza crust was chewy and so good...

Chicken tenders, hot wings, and Cajun sauce

Next came the chicken tenders and hot wings. They were so tender and delicious. And the Cajun sauce that came with them was such a kick!!! Personally, the Cajun sauce also paired really well with the basil-pesto-based Legend pizza.

The chicken tenders and wings were well brined, and the coating was fairly strongly seasoned, so they were delicious even without sauce. I liked them much better without it.

My husband kept saying the Cajun sauce was sooo good and dipped everything generously in it! We were full, so we left a little of the chicken tenders and hot wings. Even though the pizzas were personal size, the generous toppings made them surprisingly filling!!!

A Wirye Central Plaza pizza meal that works well for two

Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch is already well known as a great pizza spot in Wirye. It would be nice for a weekend meal with family, and it also seemed like a really good place to bring your parents. Since there is a personal size smaller than regular, the amount was just right for two people; I also liked that older diners who cannot eat a lot of Western food could have a moderate portion. After eating, it was lovely to take a short walk around Wirye Central Plaza. I recommend stopping by Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch, a great Wirye Central Plaza lunch spot, for pizza on the weekend!
