What kind of restaurant is Omil Hyehwa Daehangno?
Omil Hyehwa Daehangno is a western-style restaurant serving omurice (omelet rice), pasta and pork cutlet on the 2nd floor of 35 Daemyeong-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, right in Daehangno. Thanks to its cute, adorable concept, it's super hot among people looking for pasta or omurice in Hyehwa, and it's just as good for a date as it is for coming with kids — it won me over instantly!

Omil Hyehwa is a place that's built up quite the word-of-mouth reputation as a Daehangno restaurant.
Finding the Omil Hyehwa Daehangno entrance

The exterior itself gives off such a cute, cozy, fairy-tale feel that you could spot it from far away at a glance!

Omil Hyehwa is a go-to hotspot in Hyehwa-dong known for its adorable, fusion-style menu. From carefully made, fluffy omurice to pasta, pork cutlet dishes, and a variety of side dishes, there's something for everyone regardless of age or preference.
Inside Omil Hyehwa Daehangno: seating and the self-service bar

From the interior design to the visuals of the food, the 'cute' concept is baked into every corner of the restaurant, so you can't help but smile the moment you step inside 🎨

Looking around after taking our seat, I was shocked at how packed it was with customers of all ages! Not just couples on dates, but tons of families with kids too. I guess the rule that cute always wins never changes, no matter your age 🥺✨
The interior was decked out in a bright wood-and-cream palette — such a pretty space 📸

We were seated at a two-person table by the window. There was a simple self-service bar corner where you could grab water and pickles, plus a phone charger. So thoughtful! The restroom was inside the restaurant and unisex.
After waiting to get in, I was starving!

Tagging your phone brought up the ordering site right away. What a good world we live in these days ✨✨
Omil Hyehwa menu and prices

The pasta, omurice, and cutlet dishes all looked so good that I agonized over what to order for a while...
Ordering the rubber-duck omurice, sizzling cheese katsu and crunchy corn fritters
We went all in and ordered the signature omurice already famous for its visuals, the sizzling cheese katsu with cheese pouring down like a waterfall, and the crunchy corn fritters we'd been curious about as a side 😋

After a short wait, our order started coming out one dish at a time — and the moment it hit the table, our eyes were delighted before anything else...
Rubber-duck omurice (16,900 won) with a free chick plush

The second it arrived I literally squealed 'oh my gosh oh my gosh' 😭 it was that overwhelming
So. Cute. !!!!!!🐥🐥🐥
And the amazing part — they gave us this adorable chick plush toy and a duck tube as a gift!! 🐥🎈
The kids at the next table absolutely loved it too. I found myself grinning along with them — cute things really are the best... Getting cute merch before we even started eating put me in such a great mood, haha
Cutting into it gently with a spoon, a nutty aroma burst out

The deep umami of the sauce, the soft rice, and the fluffy egg came together in perfect harmony

It had a sweet, nutty flavor that kids would surely eat up without any spice at all!

Yummy~
Sizzling cheese katsu (19,900 won)
It came out sizzling on a hot griddle with cheese, and it was bigger than I expected.

The pork cutlet was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, packed with rich cheese, so every time you lifted a piece with your chopsticks, the cheese stretched in a satisfying way.

The nuttiness of the cheese met the crunchy texture of the katsu for a truly luxurious flavor. This cheese katsu was my boyfriend's number one pick!!
Crunchy corn fritters (11,900 won) with mini gloves
They gave us a special mini plastic glove just big enough for three fingers. Isn't that such a nice touch? 🧤

Taking a bite of the crunchy corn fritters, the outside was crispy while the corn kernels burst inside — a textbook example of sweet-and-salty done right.

Add in the fun of eating with your hands, and it's dangerously addictive... this was my number one pick....🤤
