Jongno Indian restaurant for mutton palak: Meono Kkameona
In short
Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch is a second-floor Indian restaurant in Jongno, Seoul, within walking distance of Hyehwa Station. On a return visit, I paired Mutton Palak with cheese naan, garlic naan, chicken curry pasta, and mango drinks. Verdict: a satisfying choice for curry and naan in Daehangno.

I went to Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch for Indian curry in Daehangno. I had visited once before, and this time I came back for delicious curry and naan again, haha. Once I start craving curry, it is one of those foods that makes me want it again, so I think that is why I find myself seeking out Indian curry from time to time.

This time, I ordered not only curry but also cheese naan, garlic naan, and even a variety of dishes such as kushikatsu.
Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch: location and interior from Hyehwa Station
Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch is within walking distance of Hyehwa Station. It is on the second floor, so you can take the stairs or elevator up and find the restaurant right away.

When you walk in, you get that distinctive, exotic atmosphere of an Indian restaurant. There are plenty of tables, so it seemed nice for a meal with friends or a date, and it also looked good for larger groups.
And something that was convenient on this visit! I could check the menu and order straight from my phone at the table. It was nice to take my time choosing while looking through the menu, haha.
What I ordered, from cheese naan to mango drinks
This time, I picked out the dishes I wanted one by one.

- Cheese Naan
- Garlic Naan
- Mutton Palak
- Chicken Curry Pasta
- Mangoo Assi
- Mango Juice
That is what I ordered :) Since I was at a curry restaurant, naan was a must, of course, haha. This time I chose two kinds: cheese naan and garlic naan.

For the curry, I ordered Mutton Palak, and because I also wanted to try something a little different, I added Chicken Curry Pasta.

For drinks, I chose Mangoo Assi and mango juice. With everything ordered, the table looked pretty abundant, haha.

How were the Mutton Palak and two kinds of naan?

The first dish I want to introduce is Mutton Palak. It is a spinach-based curry with lamb in it. You can tell just from the color that it really has that spinach-curry feel, right?!
It had the characteristic aroma of curry spices, and perhaps because of the spinach base, it was smoother and easier to eat than I expected. Eating the lamb in it together with the curry gave it another layer of flavor. It was delicious dipped with naan, and it was also fine to spoon up the curry itself little by little :)
And when you come for Indian curry, you cannot leave out naan!! This time I ordered both Cheese Naan and Garlic Naan. The cheese naan is definitely the sort of flavor cheese lovers would enjoy. Tearing into it while it was warm, I could taste the cheese and it was delicious.

Dipping it right into the curry brought together the curry’s flavor and the savory richness of the cheese, so they worked really well together. The garlic naan also had a gentle garlic aroma and was delicious on its own. I like dipping naan in curry, but I also like enjoying the naan’s own flavor like this, haha. Alternating between the two made the same curry feel a little different each time.

Chicken curry pasta and mango drinks at a curry restaurant
This time I ordered one slightly unusual dish, too: Chicken Curry Pasta! Pasta at a curry restaurant sounds a little unexpected, right? Haha. It was different from the Indian curry I usually eat, so I ordered it alongside everything else, and the curry aroma went better with pasta than I expected.
It was easy to enjoy with the noodles. Adding a dish like this rather than eating only naan made the table feel much more varied! If you are visiting with several people, it could be nice for everyone to choose one dish they want and share.
You cannot leave out drinks either, haha. This time I ordered Mangoo Assi and Mango Juice. Mango-based drinks seem to pair well with Indian food.

Especially after eating something spiced, a sip of a sweet, cool drink feels like it refreshes your palate! If you like mango, mango-based drinks could be a good choice too :)

If you are craving something with an exotic flavor in Daehangno, or want to enjoy Indian curry with naan, Meono Kkameona could be worth a visit :) I had been here before, and after eating here again this time, I have to say curry really is something you need to have once in a while, haha. Keep it in mind if you are looking for Indian curry in Daehangno!
