The two of us visited around 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday. There are so many hip places, bars, and good restaurants around Euljiro 3-ga, but you know those times when you want somewhere that is neither too loud nor too formal—just atmospheric and quiet enough? Hey Jinny was exactly that kind of place.

The weather is lovely in autumn these days, right? Walking along Euljiro’s streets while looking up at the clear sky just puts you in a good mood for no reason.

Maybe because it was that in-between afternoon hour, it felt a little more relaxed than the evening rush. It was perfect for the two of us to chat quietly over a light drink, hehe.

The Euljiro alley from the window seat

We were lucky enough to get a window seat. This window seat... the atmosphere is unreal, lol.

The atmosphere at a Hey Jinny window seat

You can see an Euljiro alley outside the window, with old buildings and that distinctive alley atmosphere all together—it was proper Euljiro vibes. It is not some dazzling view, but that is exactly why this sort of alley view feels even more atmospheric in Euljiro, hehe.

Besides our seat, there were more wonderfully atmospheric window seats and tables for four. For group seating, they say to contact the venue!

Have a look at the menu~. There were lots of different dishes, and especially a wide selection of wines and highballs. Since there were two of us, we ordered Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta (₩21,000), crispy yuxiang eggplant (₩18,000), and two Earl Grey highballs (₩10,000 each). Even the menu names are not exactly ordinary, right? Lol.

Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta and crispy yuxiang eggplant

Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta

First up, the Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta! It is an oil pasta, but it had lots of ingredients, so it smelled wonderful. The noodles were cooked just right, and the overall flavor was clean but savory—great with a highball!

If you like seafood oil pasta, I think you could enjoy this one easily.

Crispy yuxiang eggplant

And the second dish! Crispy yuxiang eggplant. I ordered it because the name made me curious, and it looked quite appetizing from the start. The outside was crisp, while the sauce was savory with a little kick, so it made a good drinking snack. Having it with the pasta gave us a nice balance of a lighter dish plus something with a richer flavor, hehe.

And of course, the Earl Grey highballs! We ordered one each. Cheers~~ Sitting by the window and drinking Earl Grey highballs on a Saturday afternoon somehow just made me happy, lol.

A quiet Euljiro bar for a date

Hey Jinny in Euljiro 3-ga, where the two of us visited around 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday! We sat by the window, and the view of the Euljiro alley was seriously lovely. It had that distinctive Euljiro feeling of looking styled but not overly styled, which made it perfect for a date, hehe. The food paired well with drinks too, and it was great for an atmospheric drink. I especially recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere quiet and pleasant without being too formal! Get a window seat and the vibes go wild.
