Pet-friendly burger restaurant in Mapo, Seoul: Quokka Bite

I visited Quokka Bite near Gyeongui Line Forest Park in Gongdeok with my husband and dog. We had two kinds of handmade burgers and sides, and what stayed with me was being able to dine comfortably indoors with our dog.

Where is it from Gyeongui Line Forest Park?

The restaurant comes into view after heading into a side street from Gongdeok's Gyeongui Line Forest Park. The address is 11 Baekbeom-ro 24-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The hours listed in the original post were 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with a break from 3 to 5 p.m. and last orders at 8:30 p.m. It was listed as closed on Sundays.

There was a menu board outside, so I could look over the options before going in.

What are the indoor seats and terrace like?

There were about five tables for two inside and about two tables on the outdoor terrace. The space was small but cozy, with warm wood-toned decor. Part of the kitchen appeared to be open, and the restaurant was clean.

It was rainy and humid on the day I visited, but the air conditioning made the indoor space comfortable. I would like to sit on the terrace when the weather gets cooler.

The restaurant also sold merchandise such as hats, T-shirts, and stainless-steel cups. I was a little disappointed that the quokka plush caught my eye but was not for sale. There was also a miniature quokka eating a burger, which was fun to look at.

Australian postcards were displayed on the wall. They reminded me of trips to Sydney and Melbourne with my husband, so I spent quite a while looking at them.

The restroom was inside the restaurant and was clean and well maintained when I visited.

What did we order, and how much did side swaps cost?

I was curious about the burgers after hearing that the owner learned cooking in Australia and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu. The country-of-origin information was also displayed clearly.

We ordered at the kiosk. A notice also said that Naver Order was available.

My husband chose the Grilled Quokka Double Burger Set, and I chose the Nashville Quokka Hot Chicken Burger Set. We changed the fries included in each set to onion rings and sweet potato fries, respectively. The extra charge was ₩500 for onion rings and ₩3,300 for sweet potato fries.

Tissues, wet wipes, ketchup, straws, forks, and knives were available for customers to take as needed.

How did the double burger and hot chicken burger taste?

Both burgers we ordered were generous in size. With the onion rings and sweet potato fries alongside them, I felt we had made the right choice in changing the sides.

The Grilled Quokka Double Burger had two patties, bacon, tomato, cheese, and romaine. I do not usually eat burgers often, but I kept sharing my husband's burger. It suited my taste so well that I said we should come back while we were eating.

The Nashville Quokka Hot Chicken Burger had a moist whole chicken-leg patty. It appeared to include pickles and something like coleslaw, and the bun also felt soft and moist.

How were the onion rings and sweet potato fries?

The onion rings had a thin, crisp coating and did not feel overly oily. The sweet potato fries had a crisp texture that reminded me of mattang (candied sweet potatoes). My husband and I talked about the sweet potato fries we had eaten in Sydney as we ate them.

The pickled onions served with the meal were good alongside the burgers and fries when they started to feel rich.

At the time of my visit, there was an event offering a quokka fan and hash brown for writing a Naver receipt review. We also received a hash brown through the review event; it was freshly made, moist inside, and crisp outside.

Could we dine comfortably indoors with our dog?

Our dog stayed beside us indoors and ate treats. During our visit, we were not restricted to sitting only on the terrace or keeping our dog in a carrier, so we could dine comfortably.

The owner asked for our thoughts while considering what dog treats would be good. I remember the kind treatment, and I would like to stop by again with my husband and dog while walking along Gyeongui Line Forest Park.
