Han River fireworks dinner at Cheongun, a Dangsan bossam restaurant
In short
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a Korean restaurant specializing in oh-gyeop bossam (five-layer boiled pork for wrapping) on Yangpyeong-ro 12-gil near Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Before heading to the Han River fireworks festival, this dinner was a small oh-gyeop bossam at 35,000 won, a squid seafood pancake at 16,000 won, and jaengban makguksu (cold buckwheat noodle platter) chosen as the set item. With outdoor patio tables and a roomy indoor hall, Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch works just as well for a weeknight dinner or a team gathering near Dangsan Station.

This was the day I was heading out to watch the Han River fireworks festival, so before I went I stopped by Cheongun Bossam near Dangsan to fill up first.
I figured the fireworks crowd would mean a lot of walking, so better to eat a proper dinner before moving. After loading up on bossam, seafood pancake, and jaengban makguksu, I definitely felt full and ready.

How to find the Dangsan Station bossam restaurant with patio tables

I visited this Dangsan Station bossam restaurant on a Saturday evening. The huge Cheongun Bossam sign was visible from far away, so it wasn't hard to find, and when I arrived there were plenty of customers both indoors and at the outdoor tables out front.

There are even outdoor seats with red chairs, so on a nice day it'd be a great spot for a bit of a yajang (outdoor drinking tent) vibe with your bossam and a drink. There were no open outdoor seats this time so I sat inside, but next time I'm definitely sitting outside haha

At the entrance there was a sign reading, "Every dawn, we boil the meat with care and insist on only fresh ingredients from the source." It gave the sense that, as a bossam specialist, they really pay attention to the meat and ingredients.
What is the inside of Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch like?
Once inside, the place turned out to be quite a bit bigger than it looked from outside. The tables weren't cramped together, and there were seats reaching all the way to the back, so it seemed like a good spot to visit with a larger group too.
When I visited there was a real mix — group parties as well as couples having dinner. One side of the restaurant is fully open, so even inside you still get an outdoor feel, which keeps it from feeling stuffy. Worth keeping in mind not just for dinner but for anyone looking for a Dangsan get-together or work dinner spot.
Lunch special menu: bossam set meal and spicy baby octopus set

Cheongun Bossam also has a separate lunch special. Looking at the menu board on the wall, lunch offered two relatively simple, easy meal options.
- Bossam set meal
- Jjukkumi (spicy octopus) set meal
If you love bossam but don't want to commit to a full dinner-sized plate, the bossam set is a good way to enjoy it, and if you're craving something spicy, the jjukkumi set works well. Seems like a solid option for office workers near Dangsan Station looking for a filling lunch.

Bossam is boiled pork, so it's a way to enjoy pork with a clean, light flavor while getting protein and vitamin B1. Eating it with vegetables like lettuce, napa cabbage, or kimchi adds fiber too, making it even more filling.

Tablet ordering and oh-gyeop bossam prices at Cheongun Bossam
Ordering is done via the tablet at each table. It's divided into categories — bossam, kalguksu, sides, alcohol, drinks — so it was easy to browse the menu.
On the menu when I visited, oh-gyeop bossam (five-layer pork belly bossam) was listed as Small ₩35,000, Medium ₩43,000, Large ₩50,000, and sides included squid seafood pancake ₩16,000, jaengban makguksu ₩10,000, and mulchong clam soup ₩15,000.

And one line on the table that I really liked.
If the meat gets cold, let us know. We'll reheat it warm for you.
Bossam is definitely at its best warm, so I liked that they thought about that detail.

Naver receipt review event: a free rice ball
The table tablet also had info about a Naver receipt review event. Write a receipt review and you get a free rice ball — normally a separate menu item, so worth knowing about. We ordered the oh-gyeop bossam plus jaengban makguksu/squid seafood pancake.

Small oh-gyeop bossam, 35,000 won: thick-cut five-layer pork
Finally, the main bossam arrived. One plate came loaded with the meat, alba cabbage, bossam kimchi, ssamjang (dipping sauce), and chili peppers, all looking appetizing. What stood out most was how thickly the meat was sliced.
Basic side dishes included bean sprouts, dried radish strips, and napa cabbage, along with salted shrimp and ssamjang. The bossam itself is so generous that it's great for mixing and matching different combinations bite by bite.

This wasn't lean-only bossam — it was oh-gyeop, with a good balance of meat and fat layers, so it looked moist just from the sight of it. The bossam kimchi was also generous, making it easy to pile plenty onto a bite of meat.

Of course, bossam calls for one big wrap. I put the bossam on lettuce and piled in bean sprouts, bossam kimchi, and chili — tried wrapping it up into one big mouthful. Eating bossam plain versus as a wrap is a totally different experience.
The soft meat combined with crunchy vegetables and spicy kimchi brings together several textures at once, which kept me wrapping bite after bite. Blanched alba cabbage also comes out alongside the lettuce, so you can alternate between the two.

Squid seafood pancake, 16,000 won: the side to pair with bossam
Eating just bossam felt like it was missing something, so the squid seafood pancake was the perfect companion dish. It's generously packed with chives, topped with squid and shrimp — the visuals alone were solid.

The pancake wasn't a thick, batter-heavy style — the chives and seafood really stood out on their own. The edges and some of the seafood were golden and crispy, so it was easy to grab bites of it between rounds of bossam.

Ordering just bossam alone felt a bit lacking, and if you're going with a group, this makes a great extra side to share. Especially the kind of pairing that makes you crave makgeolli haha

The set choice: jaengban makguksu cold noodle platter
When ordering bossam, you can choose either dongjuk kalguksu or jaengban makguksu — I went with the jaengban makguksu.

It came on a large plate piled generously with buckwheat noodles and vegetables like lettuce, cabbage, and carrots, topped with a heavy sprinkle of seaweed flakes — it looked plentiful even just to look at.
Before eating, I mixed the noodles and vegetables thoroughly with the sauce. The chewy noodles combined with the crunchy vegetables made for a great texture, and the sweet-and-sour, mild sauce really woke up my appetite.

Especially since oh-gyeop bossam has a decent amount of fat, it can start to feel a bit heavy after a while — but eating the makguksu in between kept my palate feeling clean and refreshed.

Is Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch worth it before the fireworks?
Dangsan actually has plenty of old-school bossam restaurants, so there's no shortage of choices for bossam — but Cheongun stood out for its clean, spacious dining room, outdoor seating, and range of side dishes.
Piling makguksu onto a big bossam wrap, then mixing in bites of squid seafood pancake along the way, made for a pretty filling dinner overall. There were genuinely a lot of customers in the evening, and plenty of tables good for groups to sit around, so this is a place worth keeping in mind for a Dangsan Station dinner, drinks, or work gathering.
