I visited Tongkeun Shabu (통큰샤브), located by Yeosu City Hall >< It’s where I always come when I’m craving shabu-shabu, and when I want chicken too! If you’re looking for a good spot around Hak-dong near Yeosu City Hall, this is a tasty place for shabu-shabu~

Tongkeun Shabu information and choosing a broth
Tongkeun Shabu is seriously spacious inside! Take the elevator up to the third floor and you’ll see it right away, haha. There’s a parking lot at the back, so parking is easy too!
Once you sit where you like, they explain how Tongkeun Shabu works~ First, they guide you through choosing your broth! There are classic broth, sukiyaki broth, mala broth, and chicken-bone broth. They said you can do a half-and-half pot too, so if you want to try several, go for two broths~
They were also running a receipt-review event! If you write a receipt review, you get Korean beef 1++ shabu-shabu meat, so I recommend doing the review and definitely trying it ><

Salad bar and sushi station menu
After choosing our broth, we went to look around the salad bar. It had everything from hot food and salads to all kinds of side dishes, and the dishes were especially great quality, haha. Even the chicken feet and chicken I always eat!!

Next up, there was a sushi station too, haha.

There were so many options, including cuttlefish, rolled egg, shrimp, and rolls~ If you want sushi with your shabu-shabu, I really, really recommend trying it ><

Loading up on unlimited vegetables and meat
Then there were vegetables too: vegetables for the shabu-shabu, plus lots of vegetables for making Vietnamese spring rolls, haha. There were even assorted noodles and dumplings for the shabu-shabu!
And lastly, meat!! The biggest perk of all-you-can-eat has to be the meat, right~ You can choose pork neck or beef brisket—or of course, have both as much as you want!! We had to eat both!

Tongkeun Shabu is a great shabu-shabu spot by Yeosu City Hall where everything from vegetables and meat to all kinds of cooked dishes is unlimited, haha. So you just fill the given meat and vegetable bowls with whatever you want!!

This is the Korean beef for shabu-shabu that we got through the receipt-review event!! Even the color looked totally different, haha. You can get meat through the review event like this, so definitely give the event a try!

We also brought back a huge pile of vegetables, haha. We took delicious napa cabbage, bok choy, bean sprouts, and all kinds of mushrooms! I especially loved that there were so many varieties of mushrooms~
Once the pot was bubbling away, we added the vegetables! I’m someone who really loves vegetables, so I put in lots and kept it simmering~ While the vegetables cooked, we grabbed more food we wanted from the salad bar!

A full spread with chicken, yukhoe, and spring rolls
Ta-da~ The chicken and yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) I always eat! Tongkeun Shabu is honestly so good at fried food, so I really recommend bringing back the chicken and kkwabaegi—sorry, kkwabarou (sweet-and-sour fried pork). They’re so delicious ㅠㅠ And definitely try the yukhoe and duck too, haha.

We also brought back various vegetables to eat like Vietnamese spring rolls. They were cut into easy-to-eat pieces, so load a plate up with a bit of everything~~

Doesn’t it look so appetizing when it’s all laid out like this ><
Once it was bubbling, we ate lots of vegetables! Then it was time to properly get into the meat, haha. We tried the Korean beef from the review event, plus tasty pork neck and beef brisket, and threw in loads of it. I love getting full on meat, ah~

Finishing with kalguksu noodles
And of course, you have to have kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) for dessert! There were two or three kinds of noodles, so I recommend taking a little of each to taste ><

Tongkeun Shabu is a great Yeosu shabu-shabu spot where you can eat as much as you want! Not only vegetables, but meat, chicken, yukhoe, duck, and all the other menu items at Tongkeun Shabu were delicious. I recommend it for a family meal, haha.
