In short

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, Busan, where diners can enjoy ocean views. My brother and I were looking for a good place in Marine City for a lunch together after a long time apart, and I remembered Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, which I had visited before, so we went back. Delicious food matters, of course, but that day I especially wanted somewhere we could eat leisurely while looking out at the sea. Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch feels quite different from an ordinary Chinese restaurant. Its glamorous interior and atmospheric furniture work beautifully together, so it was fun to look around the space while we ate.

Why I returned for lunch after a long time

Visit to a Chinese restaurant in Marine City

I returned to Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch because I wanted a comfortable lunch with my brother. The food had been good on my earlier visit, but more than anything, I had such a nice memory of eating while looking at the Marine City seascape.

Dining with a Marine City ocean view

So I came back again this time without much hesitation. A lunchtime meal with someone you like, along with delicious food, brings more happiness than you might expect. That day, too, my brother and I chatted about this and that and enjoyed an unhurried time.

Location and parking

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is on the second floor of the Adelis Shopping Arcade at 51 Marine City 3-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan. It is in the Adelis arcade, where Pungwonjang and Subyeon Choego Dwaeji Gukbap are also located, so it was easy to find. For parking, enter through the main Adelis entrance and head right to use the arcade parking lot. Parking can be a little thing to worry about when eating in Marine City, so having access to the arcade lot was convenient. Reservations and takeaway are also available, so it would be good to check ahead if you are planning a group meal or have a set visit time.

Ocean views and an atmospheric dining room

The appeal here is being able to enjoy delicious Chinese food along with the Marine City scenery.

As you can see in the photos, the bright blue sea stretches out beyond the windows. Having lunch by the window while looking at the sea definitely felt different from eating at a typical Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere deeper inside the restaurant also catches your eye.

Restaurant interior with atmospheric furniture and lighting

Warm, refined lighting and European-style furniture are arranged throughout, making it feel a little like stepping into an upscale furniture showroom. In particular, the George Nelson Bubble Lamps make the space feel even more atmospheric.

I thought it was a space that suits occasions where the atmosphere matters as much as the food, such as a date, a family meal, or a gathering with friends.

Ordering Kkanpung shrimp and abalone shrimp fried rice

That day, we ordered Kkanpung shrimp and abalone shrimp fried rice.

The two dishes came to ₩53,000. Looking at the kiosk screen, I saw a variety of Chinese dishes on offer, including fish-fragrant eggplant and sweet-and-sour pork loin with black vinegar. It made me want to try something else next time, too.

Crispy, sweet, and spicy Kkanpung shrimp

The Kkanpung shrimp first caught my eye with its appetizing appearance alone. As in the photo, crispy fried shrimp were coated in a glossy Kkanpung sauce, a sweet-spicy Chinese-style sauce. There was also a generous topping of finely sliced scallions, which added lovely color. When I picked up a shrimp and tried it, the crispy coating and sweet, spicy sauce went very well together. The shrimp were especially large, so their presence really came through in every bite. The seasoning was quite rich, making it a dish that paired well with rice, too. As my brother and I shared them one by one and talked, the plate was empty before we knew it.

A satisfying side of abalone shrimp fried rice

The abalone shrimp fried rice stood out for its combination of mild fried rice and a rich sauce. In the photo, a dark-colored sauce sits beside the fried rice, with sesame seeds scattered over the top. The rice included seafood such as shrimp and abalone, making it feel more substantial than ordinary fried rice. Eating the nicely separated grains of rice with the sauce added even more savory depth. While the Kkanpung shrimp brought the sweet and spicy flavor, the fried rice was the more filling dish.

A lunchtime spent looking at the sea

The food was delicious, but what I liked most that day was being able to eat while looking at the sea. Taking our time over lunch while watching the Marine City view beyond the window made the meal feel a little more special.

Especially because I was eating and talking with my brother, whom I had not seen in a while, I remembered not only the taste of the food but also the atmosphere of that day.

I think restaurants that stay in your mind are not simply the ones with great food, but the ones where you remember who you ate with and the atmosphere you shared.

In that sense, I thought it was a place worth returning to.

Also a gathering spot with private rooms

With its spacious dining room and private rooms, it is also useful for many kinds of gatherings. Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is said to be a large restaurant of about 100 pyeong, with three private rooms. That makes it a good option not only for couples on a date, but also for family meals, meetups with friends, and group dining. If your group wants to talk quietly, using a private room could be a good idea. Reservations and takeaway are available as well, so checking before your visit will be even more convenient.

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Marine City Chinese restaurant well suited to anyone who wants to enjoy food, atmosphere, and an ocean view all together. The Kkanpung shrimp we ordered on this visit was satisfying in both taste and presentation, with crispy shrimp and glossy sauce, while the abalone shrimp fried rice worked well as a filling meal with seafood. Above all, being able to dine with the Marine City ocean view spread out beyond the window stayed with me. Having a delicious lunch, chatting with my brother, and taking in the sea made our long-awaited get-together even more enjoyable.
