Gwangju brunch restaurant with basement parking and Naver reserved

MooDoo, a brunch spot in Cheomdan, Gwangju. Whenever I want good Western food in Cheomdan, this is the place I come back to — this time my sister was visiting Gwangju, so the three of us, her boyfriend included, went for lunch!

MooDoo Cheomdan hours and where to park

MooDoo Cheomdan is open daily from 11am to 10pm, with a break time from 3pm to 5pm and last order at 9pm. Parking is easy — there's a basement lot right at the building.

Park in the basement of the building, take the elevator up to the 2nd floor, and there's MooDoo waiting for you~!

Is there a wait at weekday lunch? Book on Naver

I booked through Naver, and they showed us straight to a reserved table~! We basically opened-run it, showing up at 11:30am on a weekday, hahaha. Even so, by noon the place was completely full. By the time we finished and left, people were already waiting. If you'd rather skip the wait, I really recommend booking ahead through Naver!

There's also a group table that seats up to 8, so it's great for get-togethers too.

Datterino Margherita, 20,000 won

The classic margherita, but made with datterino, a yellow tomato — the Datterino Margherita. A yellow margherita, of all things! It was so intriguing I had to order it.

It's packed with cheese, so each slice has real weight to it, hahaha.

True to its reputation as one of Gwangju's best wood-fired pizza spots, the crust puffs up beautifully and the dough is nice and chewy. Honestly, the color alone makes it look like a sweet pumpkin pizza, hahaha. We dipped it in the garlic sauce that came alongside.

Squid ink pasta, 19,000 won

Not something you'd order on a first date, but totally fine with a boyfriend, hahaha — the squid ink pasta. It's savory, and the squid is genuinely so tender!

Can you see how easily the squid cuts through? No chewiness at all, which I love~!

The sauce is thick, rich, and deeply savory — so good~! MooDoo really nails pasta too 🫶 Squid ink pasta can easily turn out fishy if done wrong, but MooDoo's has zero fishy taste! In general, their seafood pastas all seem to manage that trick — flavorful with no off notes.

Steak galbi cream risotto, 19,500 won

And then there's the dish you absolutely have to order at MooDoo — the steak galbi cream risotto. We might swap out other menu items, but this one is always non-negotiable for us!!!!

The meat is so tender and there's a generous amount of it, hahaha. Plus it's loaded with bacon~! Can you see how much bacon and galbi is piled on top? I already love cream risotto, and then you add meat and bacon on top?? Absolutely the perfect combo.

If you're looking for a great brunch or Western-food spot in Cheomdan, I recommend MooDoo Cheomdan~! The atmosphere is perfect for a date too. Going during the day especially, with all that natural light pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, just puts you in a good mood somehow, hahaha. And make sure you order the steak galbi cream risotto...!!!!
