Steak bibimbap and mushroom fig salad at MooDoo, Gwangju Cheomdan

In short

MooDoo is a brunch restaurant known for its wood-fired pizza, on the 2nd floor of Yastech Tower on Cheomdan-gangbyeon-ro in Gwangsan, Gwangju. With a café stop planned afterward, we skipped the pizza and ordered the grilled mushroom salad and steak bibimbap with a grapefruit ade and a mojito, and the two dishes together were a comfortable amount for two people. Between the roomy basement parking and the wide tables, MooDoo also works well as a spot for wedding invitation gatherings.

Why we ordered salad and bibimbap instead of pizza at MooDoo

I went to MooDoo, a brunch spot in Cheomdan 🍽️ It's so famous for its wood-fired pizza that pizza is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name MooDoo. Whenever I visit other branches, I usually order pizza too 🍕

But this time I wanted to try something a little different, so I picked something other than pizza haha. Since I had plans to grab dessert at a café after this meal, eating too heavy was a no-no!! So I decided to go lighter(?) with salad and bibimbap instead of pizza haha.

MooDoo parking in Cheomdan: use MooDoo's own basement lot, not the building next door

MooDoo has a spacious basement parking lot. At first I pulled into the neighboring building's lot and got completely lost trying to find my way out 😂 I finally found MooDoo's own basement parking, and it turned out to have way more space and open spots than I expected!

Easy parking made it a nice place to visit for a meal. Don't wander into the wrong building like I did — head straight for MooDoo's basement lot!

First to arrive were the grapefruit ade and mojito 🍊

With fresh grapefruit piled on top, it looked refreshing just by looking at it. And since real grapefruit was actually mixed in, you could really taste that bright fruity flavor — great to sip while eating.

Drinking it alongside the food felt like it cleaned up my palate each time 🤍

Then came the grilled mushroom salad I'd been looking forward to 🥗 I've been trying to eat more vegetables lately, so I pretty much always add a salad when I eat out, and MooDoo's salad had a generous amount of vegetables, which I loved.

There were more mushrooms in it than I expected, too — mushroom lovers will be very happy!

There were also fresh figs mixed into the salad. The warm, nutty flavor of the grilled mushrooms combined with the figs' subtle sweetness surprisingly well.

Partway through, I wished there was a bit more sauce, so I asked for extra, and the staff kindly brought some right over haha.

Plenty of vegetables, plenty of mushrooms — a great order when you want to eat light.

Steak bibimbap: tender steak with rice and sauce that won me over

Next up was the steak bibimbap! It had a nice variety of fresh vegetables mixed in too. Above all, the rice was genuinely delicious.

The steak wasn't chewy at all — it had a tender, soft texture that was easy to eat, and the sauce was tasty too, so once I started mixing it into the rice I couldn't stop going back for more.

Honestly, I worried ordering the salad and bibimbap together might end up being too much food, but it turned out to be a much more manageable portion than I expected!! Especially the rice-and-sauce combo in the bibimbap — I loved it so much I've already marked it down as a must-order for next time 😋

Is MooDoo a good spot for a wedding invitation gathering?

While eating, I thought this would actually be a great place for a wedding invitation get-together. The tables are wide, parking is easy, and the food is good, so it's well suited for eating with a group. Sure enough, as evening rolled around, customers kept streaming in and the place filled up fast — you could really feel how popular it is.

If you're looking for a spot for a wedding invitation gathering, I'd recommend booking ahead!! Requesting a window seat in advance seems like a good idea too 😊

MooDoo is a well-known Cheomdan spot famous for wood-fired pizza, but this time going with salad and steak bibimbap instead of pizza was also the best choice!! It was way more delicious than I expected, and I left very satisfied.

Next time I want to have the wood-fired pizza again, but I also want to eat this steak bibimbap again… I guess MooDoo is just a place where everything you order turns out delicious haha. I'm planning to come back here for a wedding invitation gathering next 💍🤍
