Beomeo-dong Daegu Korean restaurant with a kid: Banwoldang seokgalbi
In short
Banwoldang Buja Sikdang Suseong Branch is a Korean restaurant on Beomeocheon-ro in Suseong-gu, Daegu, serving stone-plate seokgalbi (grilled short ribs) along with spicy pork and squid stir-fries. Visiting with her child, the writer ordered the stone-plate buja seokgalbi for two at 14,000 won, and a cheonggukjang (rich fermented soybean stew) came free, filling out the meal with meat, soup and side dishes. Nobody has to grill at the table and the child ate both rice and meat happily, which made Banwoldang Buja Sikdang an easy choice for eating out with kids.

This time I went out for a meal with my little prince after a while.
When you're looking for good Korean restaurants in Beomeo-dong, Daegu, you want somewhere with a solid meat menu and a filling meal — and one place I personally go back to often is Banwoldang Buja Sikdang Suseong Branch.
The spicy pork stir-fry and squid stir-fry here are tasty too, so it's a great go-to rice place, and honestly the side dishes overall are so good that I'm satisfied every time I go.

What does 14,000 won get you at Banwoldang Buja Sikdang?
What we ordered that day was the stone-plate buja seokgalbi for two at Banwoldang Buja Sikdang Suseong Branch, ₩14,000, and the cheonggukjang stew comes free. When we go with our kid, we pretty much always order the seokgalbi (stone-grilled ribs).
So this time too — seokgalbi order!!!!! The price isn't a burden even for two people, and with the free cheonggukjang stew on top, the value for money is really great.
Above all, when eating out with a kid, places where you have to grill the meat yourself can be a bit of a hassle.

There are times when you're juggling grilling, looking after the kid, and eating all at once — but here the seokgalbi comes out already cooked on a hot stone plate, so you can just dig in right away without any of that worry.
That part matters more than you'd think when eating with a kid.

Buja seokgalbi arrives hot on a stone plate, no grilling needed
The stone-plate buja seokgalbi arrived after ordering. It looked delicious, but what I liked most was that the meat came out hot, so it stayed tasty all the way to the last bite.
You don't have to grill the meat separately, which is convenient, and since it sits on a stone plate, it stays warm to some degree throughout the meal.
For families like ours eating with a kid, I think this is an especially good menu choice. The seasoning wasn't overly sweet or spicy either, just enough soaked into the meat, so it went well with rice.
And the meat itself wasn't too dry — it was tender enough that it was fine for the kid to eat too.

My little prince honestly doesn't eat meat well if it's not tasty, but every time we come here, he really digs into the rice and meat.
This time too, I cut up the meat and gave it to him with rice, and he ate so well. Sometimes it's hard to decide what to order at a Korean restaurant with a kid, but here, ordering just one seokgalbi means adults and kids can both eat together comfortably.
Side dishes at this Suseong-gu, Daegu rice house
Another reason I like Banwoldang Buja Sikdang Suseong Branch is the side dishes.

At a Korean restaurant, the main dish matters, but the side dishes need to be good too for the meal to be enjoyable. The basic side dishes here are all clean-tasting and delicious across the board, so I kept reaching for them even while waiting for the main dish.
They're especially good paired with the meat. Put some meat on a lettuce leaf, add a side dish, wrap it up and eat — you'll polish off a bowl of rice in no time.

I usually eat a lot of ssam (wrapped bites) when having meat, and here the combination of meat and side dishes works so well that I kept wrapping and eating.
If you run low on side dishes, you can get more without hesitation, which I also liked. Eating just meat can get greasy fast, but eating it together with various side dishes meant I stayed satisfied all the way through without getting tired of it.
Free cheonggukjang stew makes the meal
One more thing I personally love about this place: ordering the meat and getting cheonggukjang along with it makes it feel like a proper, full meal.
The cheonggukjang was good to spoon up in between bites of meat, and also good spooned lightly over rice — we ate it happily alongside the meat.
Especially when eating out with a kid, having rice and a soup-based dish along with the meat makes the meal so much more filling than meat alone. So taking the kid out to eat here never feels like a burden.

For adults: spicy pork and squid stir-fries at Banwoldang
Banwoldang Buja Sikdang Suseong Branch isn't just about the seokgalbi. The spicy pork stir-fry and squid stir-fry are also delicious, so when visiting with other adults, these menus are great to eat too.
When I come here, I do think about the spicy pork or squid stir-fry, but when I come with my kid, I end up picking dishes he can eat, so it usually comes back around to seokgalbi.
Still, the galbi (ribs) is so good that I always leave satisfied. If you're looking for good Korean restaurants in Beomeo-dong or Suseong-gu, Daegu and you like meat dishes, it's worth a visit.

You don't have to grill the meat yourself, it comes out on a hot stone plate so it stays warm throughout the meal, there are several side dishes, and the cheonggukjang stew is free on top!!!ㅜㅠ
But the biggest plus is that my little prince eats well here. When you eat out with your kid and they actually eat their food, that's the most rewarding thing for a mom.

Is Banwoldang Buja Sikdang worth it for Korean food in Beomeo-dong, Daegu?
Overall, the food is tasty, the side dishes are solid, and not having to grill the meat yourself is a big plus.
This seokgalbi menu was really convenient when visiting with a kid. Since the seasoned ribs come out already grilled on a hot stone plate, you can eat right away, and the meat was tender enough to be good for eating with a child.
On top of that, the free cheonggukjang stew makes it feel like a properly hearty meal.
If you're looking for good Korean restaurants in Beomeo-dong, Daegu, or a solid rice place in Suseong-gu, and you like Korean dishes like spicy pork stir-fry or squid stir-fry, this could be a good pick.
