The weather was so nice I wanted to go out and explore, so I headed to Seongsu after a while. Seongsu is always buzzing, but this time I went to one of the hottest pizza spots in the neighborhood — Pizza Slice Seoul.

What is Pizza Slice Seoul?

Pizza Slice Seoul, a top pizza spot in Seongsu, is an original slice pizza brand that started in Tokyo, and it's a hot Seongsu-dong spot where you can enjoy a variety of slice pizzas and side dishes.

Interior view with a clean open kitchen

As soon as I walked in, I was struck by how clean it was. It's an open kitchen, but it looked so spotless it could've opened that same day.

A spacious, stylish interior

Pizza Slice Seoul's interior was also really stylish.

It was a spacious, relaxed space, and instead of uniform seating, each area had its own distinctive, sensibly chosen furniture and lighting.

Spacious, relaxed seating area

You can tell at a glance how clean it is. Since it's an open kitchen, you can watch the dough being made — and seeing it made by hand somehow makes it feel even tastier!

Funny enough, every corner of the same space feels different. Unlike the crowded, chaotic streets of Seongsu outside, the spacious dining room and stylish interior made for a much more comfortable, pleasant meal.

Slice pizzas on display

How big is one pizza slice?

At this Seongsu pizza spot, you can enjoy pizza by the slice, and I liked that each slice was bigger than expected.

They also added garlic dipping sauce and pickles — essentials when eating pizza. With a variety of sides and beer and cocktails available too, it's a great Seongsu-dong hot spot for pizza and beer.

The size of one slice is pretty substantial — it holds its own even against a Costco pizza slice. On top of that, the toppings are generous and the flavors varied, so it was hard to choose since everything looked delicious.

Garlic bread listed on the menu

Honestly, garlic bread was on the menu but I didn't have high expectations — until I saw how it looked, and then I couldn't not order it.

It wasn't the baguette-style garlic bread I was used to, which made me curious. The outside looked very crispy, and the garlic piled on top was striking.

Sauces at the table and amenities

At Pizza Slice Seoul, they provide a fork and knife to make eating pizza easier, and there's also a separate space to wash your hands after recycling, which was convenient.

Pepper, hot sauce and other condiments on the table

Each table is thoughtfully stocked with pepper, red pepper flakes, oregano, ketchup, and even hot sauce. With multiple sauces to choose from, you can customize your pizza to your own taste.

A plate of freshly served pizza slices

Not long after ordering, the delicious pizzas arrived! Doesn't it look like the kind of hip pizza place you'd find in the U.S.?

A large slice with generous toppings, golden brown and perfect — pizza really does taste best fresh out of the oven.

The nicely golden-browned crust edge looked appetizing too, and it was bigger than it looked, so one slice was plenty.

These teeny tiny pickles were so cute I had to photograph them separately! I've been to a lot of pizza and pasta restaurants, but I'd never seen pickles shaped like this before. Beyond being adorable, they were the perfect bite-sized size to pop one at a time, which I really liked.

How the jalapeño cream cheese pizza tastes

Now let's really dig into the delicious pizza at this Seongsu-dong hot spot.

First up is the pizza topped with jalapeño and cream cheese. The bottom crust was crispier than expected, which made it even tastier.

The soft cream cheese wraps around the spicy jalapeño perfectly — ingredients that seem like they wouldn't go together end up being a surprisingly great match.

Homemade meatball pizza

Next, I tried the homemade meatball pizza. It's completely different from the typical bulgogi pizza — the crispy bottom crust combined with the savory cheese flavor made for a great balance.

I started off eating it plain, and toward the end I like to add hot sauce, plus dip the bread part in garlic dipping sauce — so I poured on plenty of hot sauce too, and the spiciness made it even more delicious.

Garlic dipping sauce isn't optional, it's essential. It's a flavor no Korean could dislike, and the crust end of the pizza absolutely must be eaten with garlic dipping sauce.

An unexpected standout: the garlic bread

Even though this is a pizza spot, the garlic bread was an unexpectedly delicious standout. Garlic bread usually brings to mind six-clove garlic bread or baguette bread, but this place's garlic bread had a unique shape from the start.

Cross-section of crispy baked garlic bread

The bottom of the garlic bread was really crispy, just like the pizza! It had a subtle garlic aroma, and dipping it lightly in the garlic dipping sauce made it even more delicious.

Even though it's a meeting of two different garlic flavors, it wasn't overwhelming at all — it was really harmonious and delicious.

Sauce combo tips

Wanting the jalapeño pizza to be even spicier, I sprinkled on some red pepper flakes and pepper too. I figured the red pepper flakes would obviously be good, but I wasn't sure about the pepper. Combined with the sharp, tingling bite of the pepper, the savory richness of the cream cheese came through even more, and it was clean and delicious!
