Rucola garlic shrimp & potato bacon pizza, Pizza E Michida Konkuk

Today I want to introduce Pizza E Michida Konkuk University Branch, which I visited when I was craving pizza in Konkuk. There are so many restaurants around Konkuk that it's always hard to decide what to eat. This time, after mulling over a bunch of options, I really wanted pizza with a cold beer. After some searching, I found Pizza E Michida, which had a nice atmosphere and looked perfect for a pi-mek (pizza and beer) session. On top of the pizza itself, they were running a beer discount at the time, so I didn't hesitate to head over!

The entrance had this striking red tone that gave it a really nice mood right from the start~

It's in a great location for grabbing a meal while on a date in Konkuk, so it was easy to visit with my partner~ They were also running a Naver event, so it might be worth checking that out before you go.

What's the vibe like inside?

Walking in, the interior was much bigger than I expected. The tables felt reasonably spaced apart, so it seemed like a comfortable place even if you're visiting with a group. The inside had that casual pizza-place feel combined with a warm, atmospheric touch. It wasn't too loud or chaotic — more the kind of place where you can chat comfortably over pizza and beer. It seemed like a good spot for dinner during a Konkuk date, or for a get-together with friends.

QR code ordering and choosing a half-and-half pizza

At Pizza E Michida Konkuk, you check the menu and order using a QR code at your table. It was convenient to browse menu photos and details on your phone and order right away without calling a staff member over. With so many pizza varieties, it was nice being able to take our time and browse at the table. We had the QR code open for ages debating which pizza to order. There were too many things I wanted to try to settle on just one flavor, so in the end we went with the half-and-half pizza. Being able to try two kinds of pizza on one pie is a great option if, like me, you have trouble picking just one~

A cold, icy beer after work is the best!!

Rucola garlic shrimp and potato bacon half-and-half

The pizza we chose was half rucola garlic shrimp and half potato bacon. One side had rucola and shrimp on top, and the other had potato and bacon, so we got to enjoy two completely different vibes. The moment it arrived, both toppings were piled on generously, so it looked promising even before we took a bite. Rather than picking two similar flavors, going with two different moods made switching back and forth between them fun.

First I tried the rucola garlic shrimp pizza. The rucola made the pizza feel a bit fresher, and the plump shrimp paired well with the garlic flavor. Pizza can easily get greasy, but the rucola cut through that in between bites, making it easy to keep eating without feeling weighed down. The shrimp gave a nice chewy texture, and the garlic added flavor so nothing felt bland. If you like rucola and shrimp, this is a solid, safe choice.

Next I tried the potato bacon pizza. The soft, hearty flavor of the potato combined with the salty bacon made for a familiar yet delicious combo. If the rucola garlic shrimp was on the fresher side, the potato bacon was more savory and filling. The two had such different moods that I was glad we went with a half-and-half. Going from rucola garlic shrimp to potato bacon and back again, the pizza disappeared fast before we knew it~

The chili fries we ordered alongside

Pizza alone felt like it might not be quite enough, so we also ordered the chili fries. With chili sauce added on top of the crispy fries, they had a richer, punchier flavor than plain fries. They were great to pick at in between pizza slices, and worked well as a beer snack too. Pizza and fries — sure, it's hard to call it a healthy combo, but it was definitely a delicious one~ The chili sauce gave the fries a much stronger presence than regular fries, and they were also great for sharing among a group alongside the pizza. If you want to really enjoy pi-mek, ordering this as a side is a good idea.

A good spot for a pizza-and-beer date

The pizza at Pizza E Michida Konkuk University Branch was good, but what I liked most was the comfortable atmosphere for visiting with a partner. The spacious, atmospheric interior made it easy to chat while eating pizza, and being able to browse the menu at your own pace via QR code was convenient too. It wasn't overly quiet or awkward like a blind-date setting, nor was it a place where you have to eat quickly and leave — so it's well suited as a relaxed date spot. If you're dating in Konkuk and want dinner somewhere with a nice atmosphere, or you're looking for a place to enjoy pizza and beer together, this could be a solid choice~
