Yangju Korean BBQ restaurant near Nari Park for groups: Manpo Galbi
In short
Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Yangju, Gyeonggi, within walking distance of Nari Park. Four of us had five portions of bone-in pork galbi, banchan including yukjeon and yukhoe, plus mul-naengmyeon and bibim-naengmyeon. A great pick for a generous group lunch after a Nari Park walk.

Gwangsa-dong has a row of large restaurants. Every one of them has convenient parking and is well suited to big-family meals, so there are lots of family groups.

A galbi restaurant worth stopping by after a Nari Park walk
Nari Park nearby also hosts a globe amaranth festival, so lots of people take a quick lap around the park while the morning is cool, then have lunch. It is easily walkable from Nari Park, and if you drive, you can get there in under five minutes including parking time.
When you visit Nari Park, I recommend Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch (만포갈비 양주본점). Parking is easy, and the generously sized tables give the place an airy feel.

The parking area is very large, and if there is no space, you can also park behind the building.

Our reserved table for four and the basic side dishes
We reserved for four, and when we arrived, the basic side dishes and tableware were set out right on time. The table is incredibly spacious.

There are many basic side dishes, but the yukjeon (pan-fried beef slices) and yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) make them especially memorable. You get one piece of yukjeon per person. It is not small at all, so it is a truly satisfying appetizer before the meal.

What comes with the weekday galbi lunch special
The lunch special looks good. The galbi set is ₩19,000 and includes pork galbi, naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), and sotbap (pot-cooked rice); it runs from 11:00 to 15:00, excluding weekends and public holidays. Galbi, pot rice, and even naengmyeon—it looked like good value.

Bone-in pork galbi and free naengmyeon
I looked over the menu. Manpo Galbi’s signature item is pork galbi, of course! There are many options, from marinated pork galbi and fresh galbi to beef galbi and samgyeopsal (pork belly), and at Manpo Galbi, naengmyeon is free when you order galbi 😭
First, we ordered galbi. Each portion is 250 g, so it is generous. There were four of us, and we ate five portions. Even with all the other side dishes and naengmyeon, we were so full by the time we left that our stomachs felt like they might burst. Hahaha.

Actual pork galbi arrived. With bones attached… These days, many pork galbi restaurants serve pork neck or front leg meat seasoned in galbi marinade, but Manpo Galbi passes this test right away.

I really liked the grill, too. Hahaha. It is similar to nearby Manpo Garden, but the difference is that the smoke hood here is mounted overhead rather than venting off to the side.

The galbi was really turning beautifully golden.
We were so busy eating it with this and that. After trying the pickled onions, seasoned shredded radish, jangajji (soy-pickled vegetables), and more, the meat disappeared in no time. As we ate, we started looking for lettuce, but Manpo Galbi does not serve lettuce, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), or garlic from the start; you can bring them from the self-serve bar.

You can bring more side dishes here if you run short, or pick up lettuce.

That potato macaroni salad is seriously delicious 🥹 The four of us happily worked through the meat, with a beer, a shot of soju, haha—what a fun-filled weekend.

Finishing with mul-naengmyeon and bibim-naengmyeon
No matter how full I am, I can absolutely, absolutely never give up naengmyeon at Manpo. We ordered both mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth) and bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles).

I like mul-naengmyeon, while my husband always chooses bibim-naengmyeon. And it somehow only feels complete when we steal a bite from each other, hahaha.
Finishing with delicious naengmyeon made everything perfect. It could not get any better… Manpo Galbi is not far from the globe amaranth festival site and is within walking distance, so it seems like a good lunch choice.
There is always a wait on weekends, and you can reserve through Naver up to the day before, so a reservation is a must 👏 Private-room reservations are available from eight people, so it would be nice for an anniversary meal too. The tidy side dishes and spacious setting should make big-family meals even more satisfying.
