Yeouido Italian lunch set for three, 90,000 won: Cuisine R

While looking for a nice-atmosphere restaurant near Yeouido Station, I found a Western-style Italian place run by an owner-chef with 27 years of experience since 2010.

They have a lunch set menu that's great value, plus a cozy vibe and private rooms, so it seemed like it could work well for an Italian date in Yeouido too.

With parking available and free corkage, this Yeouido spot also seemed good for wedding-invite gatherings — Cuisine R.

Where is Cuisine R, and how do parking and corkage work?

Hours are Mon-Fri 11:00-23:00 (break 14:00-17:00, last order 21:30) and Sat 12:00-22:00 (break 15:00-17:00, last order 20:30), closed every Sunday (also closed 9/25 and 9/26 for Chuseok).

You can feel that this is a Yeouido spot that's held the same location for over 15 years.

The interior overall had a warm, comfortable atmosphere, with spacious seating.

The window seats in particular have a view of lush green trees, so it seemed like a good Italian date spot in Yeouido.

On one side there are also private room seats.

You can eat quietly, so it seemed good for family gatherings, group meetups, or wedding-invite gatherings.

All dishes are made without artificial seasoning, using a method that brings out the natural flavor of the ingredients, which makes it feel even more trustworthy.

The 90,000 won lunch set for three: bread and drinks first

We visited around 1pm on a weekday after reserving, and ordered the 3-person lunch set.

At ₩90,000, that comes to a reasonable ₩30,000 per person for an Italian meal.

First they bring out wet wipes and pre-meal bread.

The bread was soft and plain-tasting, good for a light start before the meal.

Dipped in the accompanying sauce, it has good umami.

With the set menu, you can each choose a drink from Zero Coke, Coke, Sprite, lemon ade, grapefruit ade, or Paulaner draft beer.

We chose lemon ade and grapefruit ade, but instead of lemon ade they made us seasonal cheonggyul (green citrus) ade.

Not too sweet, with a refreshing cheonggyul and grapefruit flavor, it paired well with the Italian dishes.

Today's salad at Cuisine R

Next comes today's salad.

Fresh vegetables come with cheese and fruit, and the portion was quite generous, good for whetting the appetite before the meal.

Cherry tomatoes and orange are mixed in too, adding a fresh touch.

The combination of rocket (arugula) salad and ricotta cheese is delicious every time.

Three mains: puttanesca pasta, truffle risotto and rocket pizza

For mains, you can order 2 dishes from pasta and risotto, and 1 from pizza.

As befits an Italian spot in Yeouido, the dishes are plated beautifully on clean dishware — great from the visuals alone.

Pasta can be chosen from Puttanesca (tomato), Porcini (cream), or Salmone (oil) — we chose the Puttanesca (tomato) pasta.

The pasta came piled generously on the dish, packed with ingredients.

The noodles were cooked just right, and the sauce had good umami.

You could really taste the big chunks of chicken and mushroom, plus the tomato and rocket.

Risotto can be chosen from Truffle risotto (cream) or Pollock roe risotto (rosé) — we went with the Truffle risotto (cream).

I usually love truffle aroma, so I ordered this — the soft, nutty cream combined with the deep truffle scent for a rich, satisfying dish.

You could really feel the moist, creamy texture of the risotto along with the individually chewy grains — exactly my taste.

The mushroom flavor in between bites was also great — this was my favorite dish.

Pickles are essential alongside rich dishes like pasta and risotto — just ask the staff and they'll bring some out.

Crunchy, tangy pickles cleanse the palate, which I think is essential with Italian food.

The last main dish, pizza, can be chosen from Gorgonzola or rocket (arugula) pizza.

We chose the fragrant rocket pizza.

The combination of a not-too-thick crust topped generously with rocket looked appetizing.

This pizza reflected Cuisine R's philosophy of carefully choosing ingredients with freshness and quality as top priorities.

Since the cheese is over 99% pure cheese, it wasn't greasy or artificial-tasting — just a nice nutty flavor.

The 3-person lunch set is a great value for the price and quite filling, so if you're deciding on lunch in Yeouido, Cuisine R is worth a visit.

Overall, a calm and cozy atmosphere let us enjoy Italian food at ease — Cuisine R, a restaurant near Yeouido Station.
