Interior atmosphere of Rosetta, a cocktail bar near Hapjeong Station

Today I'm introducing Rosetta, a cocktail bar with great atmosphere and, even better, great food. You know those days when you want a pretty space, a nice cocktail, and delicious food all at once? This visit to Rosetta was exactly that kind of day.

Seating in Rosetta's classic interior

Between the classic interior, the music playing pleasantly in the background, and the friendly service, I enjoyed the whole visit. The sweet pumpkin cream gnocchi in particular was so good that I wanted to recommend this place as a must-try bar near Hapjeong Station haha.

Rosetta's entrance: 19th-century European mood

Rosetta caught my eye from the outside. The warm-toned exterior walls, the red awning, and the large potted plants by the entrance together felt like a bar you'd stumble upon in a European alley.

The soft lighting under the ROSETTA sign made the atmosphere feel quite special even before stepping inside. If you picked this for a blind date or a date night, you'd already start off on a good note.

A classic room with rhythmic music

Inside, Rosetta is decorated in dark wood and red walls, giving it a classic yet warm feel. The colored-glass pendant lights, wall sconces, and small candles on the tables all came together nicely.

The space is said to be inspired by 19th-century Europe and France, and it was fun to slowly take in the sofa seating, round tables, and the paintings on the walls.

What I especially liked was the music! It wasn't just quietly drifting along — it had a nice rhythm to it, which made the evening more enjoyable. The classic interior paired with the music felt lively rather than static.

It seemed like a great spot for two people to sit and chat over drinks, which makes it a good fit for a date near Hongdae.

The staff member who served us that day was really kind. They explained the food and cocktails well, which made choosing from the menu feel comfortable from the start.

Rosetta's signature cocktail menu

Sometimes just reading a cocktail name doesn't tell you much about the style. It was nice being able to choose with some explanation. Rosetta apparently serves art-themed signature cocktails, and even the menu names matched the mood of the space, which made choosing part of the fun.

Two cocktails, Water Lily Pond and Summer Sunshine

Water Lily Pond cocktail: fresh herbs meet fruit

Water Lily Pond is a cocktail with a dry sherry wine base, plus fig, cherry blossom, soda, and herb oil. The round glass topped with a pickled celery stalk was distinctive and pretty from the moment it arrived.

According to the menu description, the flavor of the sherry's white grape skin is layered with herbs and fruit to express the freshness of nature. The name, the ingredients, and the visual all tie together, so knowing the backstory makes it more fun to drink.

With herbal notes and soda working together, it's introduced as a clean opening drink. The staff's friendly explanation made it easier to feel comfortable choosing such an unusual combination.

Summer Sunshine cocktail: the summer sea in a glass

Summer Sunshine is made with yuzu, Korean pear, and lemongrass, plus kefir yogurt and soda.

A tall glass topped with seasoned laver was genuinely unusual — pairing seaweed with a cocktail was such a fun surprise haha.

It's described as combining the fragrance of yuzu and lemongrass with the refreshing coolness of pear and soda to capture the impression of a summer sea — and using the umami of seasoned laver to express the salty sea breeze. That idea alone made it fun to try.

Both cocktails had stories behind their ingredients and garnishes, which made them more than just pretty drinks. They also worked well alongside the food, and the pairing of the squid ragu linguine with the cocktails was especially memorable :)

Cuttlefish ragu linguine, packed with seafood

Rosetta's squid ragu linguine (₩24,000) was also satisfying. It was packed with ingredients, which made eating it alongside the noodles fun.

The ingredients felt fresh, and the squid ragu combination was unusual enough to feel different from the pasta I usually eat. Most of all, the pairing with the cocktail worked well — alternating bites of pasta with sips of cocktail made the whole experience of enjoying food and drink together more satisfying.

The gnocchi and linguine each had their own distinct charm, so ordering both turned out to be a good call.

Sweet pumpkin cream gnocchi: crisp outside, chewy inside

The dish I most want to recommend from this visit is the sweet pumpkin cream gnocchi! It looked delicious from the moment it arrived, with round gnocchi sitting on a yellow pumpkin sauce — and the gnocchi's texture was especially good.

The outside was cooked slightly crisp while the inside stayed chewy, which made each bite fun. The contrast between the outer and inner textures was so appealing that I said it was delicious after just one bite haha.

The pumpkin sauce was also delicious — I cut the gnocchi and generously coated it in sauce, and the combination of chewy gnocchi and smooth sauce was wonderful. I came for the cocktails but left more impressed by the gnocchi! If you're ordering food along with drinks at Rosetta, this is a dish you shouldn't miss.

A Hapjeong cocktail bar that nails both mood and food

Rosetta isn't just a pretty interior — the food was genuinely delicious too, which made it a memorable visit. The nicely rhythmic music and friendly service also made the whole time there pleasant. It's a great pick for a blind date or date night to enjoy food and cocktails together, and it also works well as a casual second-round spot after dinner.
