Hapjeong bar in Seoul with a custom non-alcoholic cocktail: Rosetta
In short
Rosetta is a painting-themed cocktail bar in Mapo, Seoul, sitting midway between Hapjeong and Sangsu stations with a red European-style facade and outdoor terrace seats. Unable to drink because of a cold, the writer simply described the flavor of 'Dancer on Stage' from the menu and the bar built it as a non-alcoholic cocktail for 21,000 won, served alongside a Glenfiddich 15 glass at 20,000 won and a fruit and cheese platter at 18,000 won. On a cool evening, Rosetta's terrace is an easy place for a couple to have one quiet drink.

In weather this cool and pretty, you have to hit up a good terrace bar!! I went on a rare just-the-two-of-us date with my husband to Rosetta, a terrace bar in Mapo. From the European-style exterior to the upscale interior, it had such a great atmosphere that I'd 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a Mapo date spot 🩷 Here's my honest review after trying the non-alcoholic cocktail, whisky, and fruit cheese platter at Rosetta 🍸🍹
Where is Rosetta in Hapjeong, and is there parking?

Rosetta is a cocktail bar located roughly halfway between Hapjeong and Sangsu stations 🍸 It's 393m from Exit 3 of Hapjeong Station, and it's open daily from 18:00 to 5:00 the next day. There's plenty of food around Hapjeong, Sangsu, and Hongdae, so it seems like a great place to grab a proper meal first, then swing by for a light drink after. 🅿️ There's parking for about 2-3 cars right in front.
Amenities include group seating, reservations, WiFi, separate men's/women's restrooms, and a waiting area.
What are Rosetta's interior and outdoor terrace seats like?

The exterior is red and European-styled, so it stands out even if you're just walking by ❤️ That bold red color alone makes the whole place a photo zone haha. While Hapjeong has plenty of hip, young bars, this place feels more like a bar tucked in a European alleyway. Too pretty to walk past without going in!!😍

The interior is equally lavish and upscale. Overall it's classic and antique-feeling, with lighting and décor that give it real weight.
It's the picture of a proper cocktail bar. There's bar seating where you can watch the bartender mix drinks. I used to think that sitting alone at a bar with a whisky or cocktail, brooding over your problems, was something adults did when they had things on their mind 😂 turns out that only happens in dramas lol ㅠㅠ In real life it's soju in front of your apartment...
The table seats are sofa seating, so you can sit comfortably. The seats are cozy enough that it also looks like a great spot for couples to have a relaxed date 💗

There's also a room further inside. I couldn't take a photo since there were guests in it, but it apparently fits up to 9 people. If you're looking for a private room bar near Hapjeong or Sangsu, recommended!

There are paintings hung around here and there. Since Rosetta sells cocktails based on a painting concept, these little touches make sense. Even a single painting on the wall totally changes the mood haha. Feels a bit like being at an art museum~~

Here's the restroom. The men's and women's restrooms are separate and indoors. Even the restroom is spotless and pretty haha. If you're planning a blind date or a date in Hapjeong, you have to come here!!!!! Highly recommend!!!! This place totally wins over women 🩷❤️🩷❤️

The interior is amazing, but the real reason we came to Rosetta was to sit at the terrace tables and enjoy this fall weather!!!!

There are quite a few outdoor tables. It's kept just as clean outside as the interior, so it's every bit as comfortable to sit out there. Each table has soft lighting, which makes for a really nice atmosphere ✨
Rosetta's drink and food menu prices
Along with cocktails and whisky, Rosetta serves food that pairs well with drinks.
- Rosé mac and cheese ₩18,000
- Buttered baby potatoes with jamón ₩21,000
- Kabocha chorizo gnocchi ₩22,000
- Orange prosciutto salad ₩22,000
- Cuttlefish ragu linguine ₩24,000
From light salads to pasta, they have solid snack-food options that rival a real Western-food restaurant haha.

There's a wide variety of cocktails and whiskies.

And then there's Rosetta's special menu — cocktails inspired by famous paintings. Since these are drinks you can only get here, I was curious about every single one haha.

A staff member walked us through the menu, explaining each one. Hearing their explanation made even drinks I didn't know much about click into place haha. And they told us that if a cocktail isn't on the menu but you describe the flavor you want, they'll make something as close to it as possible. It was fun ordering this way 👍
<Our order> ✅Fruit cheese platter (18,000) ✅Glenfiddich 15 glass (20,000) ✅Non-alcoholic cocktail (21,000)
Since we'd already had dinner, we ordered something light — a fruit cheese platter, one whisky, and a non-alcoholic cocktail. Really, really unfortunately, I had a cold that day, so I had to go with the non-alcoholic cocktail.... ugh... so disappointing ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ😭

Still, I picked the cocktail whose flavor sounded most tempting on the menu 🍹 'Dancer on Stage,' and asked them to recreate it as closely as possible!
How did the custom non-alcoholic cocktail and Glenfiddich 15 taste?

Tofu crackers came out as the complimentary snack. They were crunchy and tasty, so we finished them off fast lol.

Next came the fruit platter, made up of seasonal fruit, jamón, cheese, and chocolate. That day's seasonal fruit was white peach and Shine Muscat grapes 🍑🍇 The portion isn't huge, so it's a perfect size for a second round of drinks!!

Salty, rich jamón is still the best drinking snack, no question!!!!

The sweet, slightly bitter chocolate also pairs quite well with whisky 😋 For aromatic drinks like cocktails or whisky, it seems like snacks that aren't too intense are better for actually tasting the drink haha.

My non-alcoholic cocktail. Since I'd only described the flavor I wanted, I was really curious how it would turn out haha. It came in a pretty coffee cup, topped with foam — almost cappuccino-like??!

The staff member explained in detail what ingredients and flavors went into it haha. Taking a sip, the creamy texture was so good!! The first taste was sweet caramel, followed by coffee and cinnamon notes — it really felt like drinking a smooth coffee ☕ It reminded me of the mud shakes I used to love in college haha. I drank so many of those back then..... but this was so much smoother, creamier, and richer in flavor.

Next was the Glenfiddich 15 glass. Glenfiddich is a single malt Scotch whisky. We don't know much about whisky, but since we've had Glenfiddich a few times before, we ordered it without worrying too much haha. On the rocks, with just one ice cube! It's nice being able to get it by the glass like this when a full bottle feels like too much.
Leaving Tori with someone else and having a date with my husband after a while was really nice........ 💏 The terrace vibe was great, and the breeze drifting by felt so good too. We should definitely come out together again next time 🥰
Is Rosetta worth it for a date night in Mapo?
Rosetta was a cocktail bar in Mapo with a fantastic overall atmosphere — a red European-style exterior, an upscale interior, and an outdoor terrace on top of it all. Since this kind of nice, cool weather doesn't last long, sitting at a terrace table with a cool breeze and a drink in hand felt like such a precious moment. Being able to describe exactly the flavor we wanted and have a cocktail made to match took a lot of the pressure off choosing from the menu. If you want to enjoy cocktails and whisky in a lavish European-style space, I'd recommend visiting Rosetta, a bar in Mapo 💕
