Meongteongguri Kkomjangeo Makchang Guro-gu Sindorim Branch

A day of healing with makchang (grilled pork intestine) with Mongja after ages 🔥 I was feeling suuuper downㅠㅠ, so we said, “Let’s eat something good and shake it off,” then immediately ran to Meongteongguri Kkomjangeo Makchang Guro-gu Sindorim Branch haha. To give away the ending... after finishing everything, my mood had simply lifted again lol. I really think delicious food is the best thing on hard days.
How do you get there from Sindorim Station?
Come out of Exit 1 at Sindorim Station and walk straight for about 500 m toward Gyeongin-ro. It’s on the second floor of the red-brick building next to Ramada Hotel!

It’s right in the middle of Sindorim Station and Guro Station, so it’s perfect for a get-together too. (Just note that there’s no separate parking.)
Inside the restaurant and par-grilled makchang
Since it’s on the second floor, it’s more spacious than you’d expect once you head up! The tables are nicely spread out, making it just right for a big work dinner, and quiet ’90s music gave it a slightly retro feel. The ventilation was great too haha—no smoky smell, just comfortable.

Once you order, they par-grill it deliciously in the kitchen.

The makchang and doenjang sulbap combination
We really committed to eating that day. Four portions of makchang (between the two of us!!), doenjang sulbap (rice in soybean-paste broth), and two bottles of soju (Mongja drank those alone lol^^). Even the basic sides were so neat and good. And this bean-sprout soup, though—it was the real deal, with that spicy kick...! Seriously, thumbs up.

Young radish kimchi, carrots, pickled lettuce, and sauces for dipping the makchang—perfect. There were lots of dipping sauces, but the makjang (seasoned soybean-paste dipping sauce) was especially crazy good. The makchang itself tasted great, but the sauce brought its savory flavor out even more: a total rice-stealing combination.

The doenjang sulbap we ordered on the side was also wonderfully spicy; one spoonful and ^_ㅠ it felt like it cleared everything right out. + The seasoning soaked nicely into every grain of rice, and it freshened up your mouth when makchang could start to feel a little heavy, so please order it!!

We started with three portions of makchang and at first thought, “Can we finish all this?” Then we went and ordered one more portion. (I guess your appetite explodes when something upsetting happens.)

It cooked crisp on the outside and stayed juicy inside, becoming more nutty and savory the more I chewed. Every piece felt like my stress was slowly melting away.

It had a subtle smoky aroma too, so I kept reaching for more even without any extra seasoning.

Even plain, it was salty and nutty in a way that kept my chopsticks moving lol. Excited Mongja happily poured down two bottles of soju.

As we grilled slowly and chatted about this and that, time disappeared in a flash~ Before we knew it, it was night.

We cleared the whole perfect spread, then skipped happily home with ice cream in hand.

It was the day of the Yeouido Fireworks Festival lol, and we could hear fireworks booming all along the way haha. We watched from our rooftop as a consolation and wrapped up the day :)

We ate something delicious, so let’s power through next week too.
