Incheon Grand Park picnic with 2 omakase sushi packs: Minyeong Hwareo
In short
Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch is a sashimi and sushi takeout shop inside Moraenae Market in Namdong, Incheon. Two packs of omakase sushi (11 pieces, 18,000 won each) were picked up on a Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and carried three subway stops to Incheon Grand Park for a picnic, and the shop added ice packs and a cooler bag at no extra charge, so the sushi stayed fresh in the midday heat. Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang is a good sushi takeout stop if you want to browse Moraenae Market and then walk to the park without a car.

While looking for somewhere to grab sashimi and sushi to go at Moraenae Market, I stopped by Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch! It's a well-known Guwol-dong sashimi restaurant famous around Moraenae Market, and it was super convenient to pick up sashimi or sushi for takeout haha.

They run on a same-day-prepped, same-day-sold policy, so everything's fresh, and there were tons of sushi options to choose from! It's also close to Incheon Grand Park, so if you're planning a picnic there, stopping by Moraenae Market first and grabbing takeout on your way is a great combo.

What the shop is like on a Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

I visited on a Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and there were a ton of people out front. But since it's a takeout-only sashimi and sushi shop, everyone grabbed their orders quickly, so there wasn't much of a wait at all.

Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch sells all kinds of sashimi and sushi to go, including fresh live fish sashimi. As a takeout-only shop, turnover is high, and since everything prepped that day is meant to sell out that day, the sushi all looked really fresh. It seems like a great spot for anyone hunting for Guwol-dong sushi or Guwol-dong sashimi to take home haha.

After I bought the sushi, they packed it up in an ice pack and cooler bag with no extra charge haha. It was still hot out in the daytime so I was a little worried, but the careful packing meant I could carry it home fresh.
Carrying two omakase sushi packs to Incheon Grand Park
What I ordered: omakase sushi (11p), ₩18,000, x2.

I hopped straight on the subway and rode three more stops to have my picnic at Incheon Grand Park haha. It's close enough that even non-drivers like me can do a date course of the market followed by the park.

Ta-da~ when I opened it up, the packed sushi was arranged neatly and cleanly.

Besides the sushi, they included soy sauce and wasabi in an easy-to-use disposable dish and soy sauce tube. There was also pickled ginger and rakkyo, plus a small soup packet — turns out it's meant to be mixed with water.
Omakase sushi (11p) for 18,000 won: what's inside and how it tastes

Since it's omakase, they say the composition can change depending on what's in stock! It seems like they put in whatever seafood is good that season haha.

I visited in mid-September, and on the day I went, the Minyeong Hwareo omakase sushi lineup — from top left — was: flatfish, flatfish fin (engawa), salmon, seared salmon (aburi), tuna, fatty tuna belly (otoro), soy-marinated shrimp, eel, sweet shrimp, salmon roe gunkan roll, and sea urchin (uni) gunkan roll.

The seafood on top of the sushi honestly looked gorgeous and fresh just from the color alone haha. I get why Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang keeps opening branches all over the country.

I started with a piece of the engawa sushi, and — mm~❤️ — it's genuinely delicious. No fishy taste at all, and the fatty engawa had a great chewy, springy texture! Not just the engawa — every piece of sushi was good haha. If you're looking for a great sushi shop around Moraenae Market, I highly recommend this one.

Have you ever seen soy-marinated shrimp this thick? Hahaha. Such delicious sushi — I don't think I've seen another Guwol-dong sashimi spot with this kind of quality at this price.
Is Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang worth it for a picnic?
I visited Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch for sushi at Moraenae Market and sashimi takeout in Guwol-dong. It's a great place to stop by when you want to quickly pack up sashimi or sushi to go inside Moraenae Market.
I'd especially recommend it to anyone hunting for a Moraenae Market spot who wants to enjoy sashimi or sushi comfortably at home, or anyone shopping at the market who wants to grab something to bring along. It's also a solid choice if you want to pack Guwol-dong sashimi or Guwol-dong sushi and eat it at home.
If you'd rather take fresh sashimi or sushi to go quickly instead of eating in-store, and enjoy it at home as a snack with drinks or a full meal, this place is worth a visit.
