Handmade burger restaurant in Mapo: Quokka Bite lunch sets
In short
Quokka Bite is a handmade burger restaurant in a quiet alley near Gyeongui Line Forest Park in Mapo, Seoul. We shared the Double Cheese Burger and Grilled Quokka Burger sets; both were filling, warm, and distinct in flavor, though cooking to order meant a short wait.

Wanting a filling burger lunch near Gongdeok, I visited Quokka Bite near Gyeongui Line Forest Park. The two of us ordered two burger sets and shared them.

Where is Quokka Bite, and what is it like?
The address is 1F, 11 Baekbeom-ro 24-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is not far from Gyeongui Line Forest Park, but it is set inside an alley rather than directly on the main walking path, so it felt relatively quiet.

When I visited, it was easy to get in without much waiting. There was outdoor seating too, which looked like a nice option for a pleasant day.

The restaurant was not large, but it was bright and tidy. It had Quokka character decorations, and the open kitchen let us watch the patties being grilled. It was not overly noisy, making it comfortable for lunch.

How were the burger sets and portion sizes?
We ordered the Quokka Double Cheese Burger Set and the Grilled Quokka Burger Set.

The two burgers had different flavor profiles. The Double Cheese Burger focused on the rich taste of cheese and patty, while the Grilled Quokka Burger had a grilled aroma and a balanced mix of ingredients.

Each set could include a side and a drink. Even without adding extra items, the portions were enough for lunch. For handmade burgers, I felt the price was not burdensome.

There was a good variety of drinks, including zero-sugar options. It was convenient when I wanted a fizzy drink while cutting down on sugar.

How do the Double Cheese and Grilled Quokka Burgers differ?
The Quokka Double Cheese Burger had a clear presence of patty and cheese.

The brioche bun was soft and nutty, and the juicy patty made each bite moist. Although there was plenty of cheese, it was not too salty or heavy for my taste, and the sauce went well with the ingredients.

The double patty arrangement also made it filling. The Grilled Quokka Burger was lighter by comparison. It had a grilled aroma and vegetables, so it did not feel heavy, and the patty-to-sauce ratio was not excessive.

Sharing half of each made it easy for us to compare them. The Double Cheese Burger would suit someone wanting a richer cheese-and-patty flavor, while the Grilled Quokka Burger would suit someone looking for a lighter combination.

What did we receive from the review event?
That day, we joined the review event and received a hash brown and a hand fan. Since it was hot, the fan was useful too.

The hash brown had just been fried, with a crisp exterior and a fluffy interior. It was not heavily seasoned, so it was easy to eat with the burgers, and it also went well with ketchup or sauce.

Was there a wait for the food?
Because the food was cooked to order, we waited a little. In return, the burgers arrived warm, and neither the fries nor the hash brown were soggy.

The tidy space was nice, but the two burgers’ different flavors stayed with me more. The sets made for a filling lunch, and the location worked well for stopping by before or after a walk in Gyeongui Line Forest Park.
