Pizza slice restaurant in Isu, Seoul: bacon cream pasta lunch, Raymond
In short
Raymond Isu Branch is an American-style pizza restaurant near Chongshin University (Isu) Station in Dongjak, Seoul, serving pizza by the slice with Champion craft beer. On a Sunday lunch, four slices, bacon cream pasta and a craft beer were more than enough for two people, since two big slices each already filled them up. With slightly discounted lunch pricing and single-slice ordering, Raymond Isu Branch works for solo pizza and beer as easily as for a group.

If you want pizza and beer together in Isu, I'd like to introduce Raymond Isu Branch.

Especially at lunchtime, you can enjoy pizza at a slightly discounted price along with Champion craft beer, which made it a great fit for anyone looking for a lunch pijmaek spot at an Isu pizza place.

A whole pizza can feel like a bit much, and it's often awkward going in alone, but here you can order by the slice, so solo dining works too haha.

One slice was really huge, so women could probably feel quite full with just one slice.
How to order pizza by the slice at Raymond Isu Branch
What we ordered that day at Raymond Isu Branch was 4 pizza slices and bacon cream pasta. Since you pick slices individually, it was great for tasting a little of several flavors.

What we ordered that day was 4 pizza slices and bacon cream pasta.

That said, some pizza flavors can sell out, so there's a slight downside of not being able to get the flavor you want, but they seemed to always have at least 4-5 kinds ready.

If you visit with a group, it's nice to pick different flavors instead of just one and share them around. The set menus are well put together too!

The set menus have a similar composition, but we wanted pasta, so we ordered a side separately along with our 4 slices.

Each slice was pretty wide and thick, so it was surprising just by looking at it!
Honestly, I felt seriously full after just two slices, and my boyfriend said he was pretty full too, so the portions are quite generous!

True to its American-style pizza concept, Raymond Isu Branch showed off American-style ingredients and visuals. Even the display case looked delicious.

How much is a Champion craft beer with pizza?
Raymond Isu Branch's craft beer runs around ₩8,000 and comes in a pretty bottle. Since it's Champion craft beer rather than regular beer, it really delivered that proper pijmaek feeling.
I was curious about the craft beer that day so I ordered one, and it came in such a pretty bottle. At around ₩8,000, it seemed like a pretty reasonable price for anyone who enjoys pijmaek.

Pairing it with Champion craft beer instead of a regular beer made it feel like a much more proper pijmaek experience.

The spicy fusilli slice was the best of the four
The spicy fusilli, a menu item you can only get at Raymond, was personally my favorite.

There was something like pasta noodles on top, which gave it a nice chewy texture, and the sweet, tangy, spicy flavors all came together well — I found myself wishing I'd ordered two slices of this one, haha.

The curly fusilli shape held the sauce really well inside its curves. They cut everything into bite-sized pieces for us, too, ha ha ha ha — thanks, babe...!

Bacon cream pasta side: low ₩10,000s
Raymond Isu Branch's bacon cream pasta is a side dish in the low ₩10,000s, and it was much better than I expected. It came out in a hot ceramic bowl like a gratin, with a generous portion.
And what turned out to be even better than expected was this side dish, the bacon cream pasta.

The cream sauce was very smooth and savory. It came in a hot ceramic bowl like a gratin, the portion was generous, and the noodles were cooked well. At a price in the low ₩10,000s, I wondered if it might taste a bit cheap, but it really wasn't!! Ordering pizza and pasta together to share turned out to be a pretty great combo here. Savory and nutty, with a quite rich cream sauce!! haha.
What is the inside of Raymond Isu Branch like?
Raymond Isu Branch has a layout with large tables for groups alongside tables for two. When we visited on a Sunday afternoon, many tables were friends having a casual lunch get-together.

There were plenty of large tables suited for group gatherings, plus tables for two, so a lot of dating couples came by too. Visiting on a Sunday afternoon, there were many tables of friends having a casual lunch get-together.

It was convenient having a restroom inside, and I liked that there was a self-serve sauce bar so you could freely and comfortably help yourself.

We had reserved ahead so we got seated with no wait — I'd recommend booking ahead if you're visiting for an important occasion.
