Isu Station pizza bar: Belgian witbier and green grape ade, Raymond
In short
Raymond Isu Branch is an American-style pizza restaurant near Exit 9 of Isu Station in Dongjak, Seoul, where slice pizzas are served with draft beer. The order was one Spicy Fusilli slice (₩8,900) and one Bacon Hawaiian slice (₩7,900), plus Mac & Cheese (₩11,900), truffle fries (₩9,900), a 400ml Belgian witbier (₩7,500) and a 665ml green grape ade (₩6,500). The slices at Raymond Isu Branch were too big to hold by hand and had to be cut with a knife, and topping them with the Mac & Cheese was the most satisfying combination.

It's been six months since my New York trip and suddenly I was craving American-style pizza. So I met up with my New York travel buddy for a piza-and-beer (pijamaek) lunch.
Where is Raymond Isu Branch, and what are its hours?
Raymond Isu Branch is an American-style pizza restaurant near Isu Station Exit 9. Felt like it had been years since I'd been to Isu.

The exterior already gives off strong American vibes — the ivory and red combo is really pretty.
Raymond Isu Branch in three lines
- An Isu pizza spot known for huge American-style slice pizzas
- A wide range of sides that pair well with pizza, like mac and cheese and truffle fries
- A Sadang-dong restaurant-bar with good-value ade and several types of draft beer
Open daily from 11:30am to 11pm (no break time), last order for kitchen food at 10pm and for alcohol/drinks at 10:30pm. Staying open late makes it perfect for a pizza-and-beer night.

Even the chandelier has that American feel haha. We started by ordering right from the tablet on the table.
What we ordered at Raymond Isu Branch and what it cost
- Spicy Fusilli pizza slice ₩8,900
- Bacon Hawaiian pizza slice ₩7,900
- Mac & Cheese ₩11,900
- Truffle fries ₩9,900
- Belgian witbier 400ml ₩7,500
- Green grape ade 665ml ₩6,500
The set menus looked like good value too, but the portions seemed too much, so we just went with individual items.

Belgian witbier 400ml and green grape ade 665ml: how big are they?
The drinks came out first at Raymond Isu Branch: my Belgian witbier 400ml and my friend's green grape ade 665ml.

(Left) Belgian witbier: a crisp, clean draft beer with that signature ale tang. I like both ales and lagers, but today I was drawn to ale for some reason — glad I picked it, it was delicious.
(Right) Green grape ade: sweet green grape flavor. Being carbonated, it went really well with the pizza. Most of all, the portion was huge for the price. Top-tier value.
+) I really think it's unfair when cafés charge ₩7,000–9,000 for a single ade and give you a tiny portion... sob.

Spicy Fusilli and Bacon Hawaiian slices: how do they taste?
The main event, the pizzas, came out fast too. On the left is my friend's Bacon Hawaiian pizza, on the right my Spicy Fusilli pizza.
+) Honestly I originally wanted the mac and cheese pizza or the American Bulbeok pizza, but sadly both were sold out. Must be popular... nothing to be done.

Since we each ordered one slice, I planned to eat it by hand — but it was way bigger than expected, so I gave up on that idea immediately.

We ate it cut up with the provided cutting knife instead. Started with my friend's Hawaiian pizza, cut cut.
+) What's the appeal of Hawaiian pizza, really? I still don't quite get pineapple pizza haha. But to each their own — my friend enjoyed it and ate it happily.

My Spicy Fusilli pizza cut up too. I wondered what "fusilli" meant — turns out it refers to that spiral pasta shape on top. It said spicy but wasn't spicy at all, more like mildly zesty. With the sweet-and-sour tomato pasta on top, it felt like eating pizza and pasta at the same time. Good stuff.

Are Mac & Cheese and truffle fries worth adding to the pizza?
The pizza alone was already good but felt a bit lacking, so we also ordered these sides: truffle fries and mac and cheese.

I ordered the mac and cheese specifically to pile onto the pizza like this. As expected, the pizza tasted way better with mac and cheese on top. At first I was disappointed there was no mac and cheese pizza available... but ordering it separately and combining them like this solved the problem haha.

The Mac & Cheese itself had a really rich cheese flavor, super satisfying. Cheese lovers should definitely order this alongside!

And honestly, I ordered the truffle fries with low expectations, but they were unexpectedly amazing! Super crispy and just the right amount of salty — probably ranks among the best fries I've had. They're good with ketchup too, but dipping them in the garlic cheese dipping sauce that came with it (the yellow sauce in the photo above, I think that's what it is) makes them even better. I loved it so much I dipped generously and even got a refill on the sauce. Hehe.
Stuffed myself full with American-style pizza and beer after a long time. Happy Sunday, done.
