Private room sushi buffet near Hagye Station in Nowon: Kuu Kuu

I've been craving sushi like crazy lately, so I finally made it back to Kuu Kuu. This time I visited the Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch in Hagye-dong!

It had been a really long time since I'd been to Kuu Kuu at all, and I was surprised how much better the sushi and overall food quality was compared to what I remembered. The Nowon branch especially has a huge space and even a private room, so it could be a solid pick for anyone looking for a family gathering restaurant in Nowon!

Where is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, and what are its hours and parking?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is on the 6th floor of Seoul Onchun, 247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul. It's open weekdays 11:00–21:30 and weekends 11:00–22:00, and you get 2 hours of free parking if you park at the Seoul Onchun building.

We visited on a weekend for lunch, and just in case, I booked through Naver the day before. There was a wait even so, since it was a weekend lunch — there were a lot of families in particular.

Does the private room and playroom at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch suit a family gathering?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch itself is quite spacious with a lot of tables, and on top of that there's a private room good for group use, so it looked like a great spot for a family meal with parents or a gathering with kids. Weekend waits can happen, so I'd recommend booking ahead if you can!

The adult price at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is ₩27,900 for weekday lunch, ₩31,900 for weekday dinner, and ₩35,900 on weekends and holidays.

True to Kuu Kuu form, there was a huge variety of sushi and rolls, plus Korean, Chinese, Western, and dessert options galore. There were tons of desserts and fruits that would appeal to grandparents and kids alike, and the fruit was super fresh and sweet!

I think the two of us went through an entire melon that day.

What I was especially looking forward to this time was the new raw salmon sashimi, smoked duck, and lamb chops! I'd also heard the existing halibut, salmon, and shrimp sushi had been upgraded, so my expectations were up!

What I was most satisfied with at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch was the sushi quality. The halibut and salmon sushi in particular had big, generous cuts of fish — I went back for more several times! The new raw salmon sashimi was also soft and thick, which was satisfying.

And it wasn't just the sushi that impressed me. The smoked duck was chewy yet tender, and the lamb chops had that distinctive aroma and good juiciness — better than I expected. The biggest advantage is that even if everyone in the family has different tastes, each person can pick whatever they want to eat! Coming here in person, I could see exactly why there were so many families around.

One thing that was a bit disappointing: there was an event offering unlimited draft beer for writing a Naver review.

But of all days, I'd driven, so I had to give up on the draft beer sitting right in front of me...

Is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch worth it for a family meal in Nowon?

It had been a while since my last Kuu Kuu visit, and I was pleased to find the overall food quality had improved compared to the sushi buffet I remembered from before. The raw salmon, halibut sushi, salmon sushi, and lamb chops were dishes I'd happily come back for!

Above all, the biggest strength of Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is that the spacious layout with tables and a proper private room makes it easy to visit with a group. Since everyone from parents to kids can pick what they want to eat, I'd recommend Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch if you're looking for a family gathering restaurant in Nowon or a group meal spot in Hagye-dong.
