In short
Romaok Riverside is a Western-style restaurant at 16-13 Gangbyeonbuk-ro 632beon-gil in Namyangju, Gyeonggi, with a grass lawn right in front of the Han River. On a weekday evening family dinner — the writer's tenth-plus visit — the table shared the house-made scallion pre-meal bread (1,000 won per piece), fresh truffle Korean beef white ragu pasta at 28,000 won and gorgonzola pizza at 26,000 won. If someone asked me to recommend just one restaurant in Namyangju, this is probably the first place I'd bring up.
Romaok Riverside

I liked it so much after my first visit that I kept coming back, and I've now been more than 10 times. I've come for dates, family meals, and gatherings with friends — and somehow, I've tried almost every dish on the menu without a single miss.
Everyone I've brought here has said the same thing: great atmosphere, great food, and they want to come back. So if you're looking for a Namyangju restaurant with good vibes, or somewhere to get proper pasta, I recommend this place with confidence.
Where is Romaok Riverside? Right on the Han River in Namyangju

Romaok Riverside sits right by the Han River at 16-13 Gangbyeonbuk-ro 632beon-gil, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

When you first arrive, the space catches your eye before the food does. The building itself is pretty, but combined with the wide grassy yard and the Han River view beyond it, it feels like you've traveled far out of Seoul.

That makes it great for a special date, a meal with parents, or a family outing with kids. This time, too, we came for a weekday evening family dinner.

It's also a nice spot for a short walk along the Han River before or after your meal — good for days when just having dinner and heading home feels like not enough.
Parking at Romaok Riverside: the Hangang Sports Park lot out front

Parking matters when you're driving to eat in Namyangju, and this place does well here too. You can use the Namyangju Hangang Sports Park public parking lot right in front of Romaok.

I've been more than 10 times, on both weekdays and weekends, and I've never once struggled to find a spot. Of course, parking can vary depending on the time or events, but every time I've been, it's been fairly easy.

Another plus: you can walk straight from the parking lot to the restaurant without going far. It's also reasonably accessible by car from Dasan, Guri, Hanam, and Gangdong, so it's worth considering if you're looking for a good-atmosphere restaurant on the east side of Seoul.
Why the writer keeps going back to Romaok Riverside

If the space were the only nice thing, I don't think I'd come back this often. The biggest reason I love Romaok is the food.

It's a place where you can enjoy high-level Western cuisine in a relatively relaxed atmosphere, and part of the appeal is that the chef previously worked at a two-Michelin-star restaurant. Every dish, from pasta to meat courses, has a clear identity, so I'd recommend going with a group and ordering a variety of dishes to share.
And there's one thing here you absolutely shouldn't skip.
Scallion pre-meal bread, 1,000 won a piece — worth ordering extra

If it's your first time at Romaok, don't skip the pre-meal bread. It's ₩1,000 per piece. It's house-made and has scallion in it, so the flavor is completely different from typical restaurant bread. It might not look like much at first glance, but tasting it changes your mind.

I love this bread every time I go — I eat the free serving and recommend ordering extra on top. This is a place where you're satisfied before the main dish even arrives.
Fresh truffle Korean beef white ragu pasta, 28,000 won

Of everything we ordered this time, the fresh truffle Korean beef ragu pasta really stood out.

The rich, deep flavor of the Korean beef ragu combined with the truffle aroma gives the first bite a lot of depth. The sauce is rich without feeling heavy, so I kept reaching for more.

Romaok's pasta dishes are satisfying enough that it's worth visiting for pasta alone, and this dish was no exception. If you're picking just one pasta on your first visit, I'd recommend this Korean beef ragu pasta.
Gorgonzola pizza, 26,000 won

We also ordered the gorgonzola pizza. It paired well with a rich dish like the ragu pasta.

It's good for sharing among a group and enjoying the distinct gorgonzola flavor, and it's an easy dish to order for a family meal with kids too.

Pairing one pasta with a pizza works well in terms of both portion size and menu variety.

If you like wine, things get even better. Romaok has a range of wines available, and pairing them with your food can really enhance the atmosphere here.
What to order after more than 10 visits to Romaok Riverside

I think I've tried nearly every menu item at Romaok by now. If it's your first visit, here's what I'd personally suggest trying.
- Korean beef ragu pasta
- Abalone gejang pasta
- Sous-vide pork jowl with masala sauce
- And the pre-meal bread I mentioned earlier
Honestly, this isn't a place you visit for one specific dish — the overall food quality is high enough that trying something new each time is part of the fun. So whenever I visit and there's a dish I haven't tried, I naturally end up ordering it. So far, I've never regretted a menu choice here.
Good for a date or a family dinner: the verdict on Romaok Riverside
When you're searching for a good restaurant, sometimes the food is great but the atmosphere falls short, or the space is pretty but the food is just average.

Romaok Riverside is a place where, across many visits, I've been happy with both the food and the space. The location right by the Han River, the pretty exterior and grassy yard, and the high-quality food all come together well.

The staff service has also been consistently good on every visit. But I think the fact that I've been more than 10 times is the clearest review I can give.

This isn't a place that was good once — it's the kind of place I naturally return to whenever I want great food on a good day. If you're looking for a good-atmosphere restaurant in Namyangju, Romaok Riverside is still the first place I'd think of.
Whether you're looking for a date spot or want to spend a special evening with family, this place should satisfy. And with easy parking, you can visit without any hassle.
