Gongdeok pastry café: 9 picked for 32,300 won, Fluffy Bake Shop
In short
Fluffy Bake Shop is a baked-pastry café a 2-minute walk from Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station in Mapo, Seoul. On a Friday at 1:30pm the writer picked 9 items from the madeleines, financiers and canelés on display and paid 32,300 won, finding the choco financier crisp outside and chewy inside and the Nunettine financier a dead ringer for the layered snack it is named after. Gift boxes start at 500 won for 4 pieces, so Fluffy Bake Shop also works for a Gongdeok thank-you gift.

Fluffy Bake Shop is right in front of Gongdeok Station, so it's super convenient, plus it has such a huge variety of pastries that I often go there to pack gifts. My friends always say it's delicious too. This time I went for the Nth time to buy stuff for myself!

Inside Fluffy Bake Shop and how ordering works
Being right in front of Gongdeok Station, it's super accessible! If you're coming by car, you also get 1 hour free parking in the building's basement lot, which is nice.
The shop isn't huge, but there are seats where you can eat in! (More tables in the back too.)

You pick up tongs and load your tray with bread yourself, and then

you pay at the counter!

They also sell coffee and drinks. I got mine to go this time! There were a lot of cute drink options too haha.
Fluffy Bake Shop uses AOP butter from the French company Lescure! I looked it up since I was curious what Lescure butter is — apparently it's produced with traditional methods in the Charentes-Poitou region of France. It's AOP certified, so the origin and production methods are strictly regulated.
What's still on the shelves at 1:30pm on a Friday

When I arrived around 1:30pm on a Friday, this is about how much dessert was left.

Fluffy Bake Shop, a Gongdeok dessert spot, has such a wide range of financiers, madeleines, and canelés that I always end up agonizing over what to pick every time I go.

There was salt bread too, but by the time I got there it was almost all gone! Isn't the little knitted salt-bread tag so cute haha.

There were egg tarts too, and so many kinds of madeleines, right? They're cute-looking too so it's fun just browsing!

They even had a Dubai-style egg tart?! Interesting, interesting.
Canelé and madeleine flavors at Fluffy Bake Shop

Chocolate canelé, vanilla canelé, Earl Grey canelé
Vanilla madeleine, black sesame madeleine, espresso pecan madeleine, chocolate madeleine, blue cheese madeleine, hallabong (Jeju tangerine) madeleine, Nutella madeleine
A solo shot of the hallabong madeleine. Took a picture because it was so cute haha.
There were way more madeleine flavors than what's in the photo..! A lot of rare flavors I hadn't seen at other bakeries!!
Financier flavors at Fluffy Bake Shop

Gamtae (seaweed) financier, Nunettine financier, apple churros financier, almond financier, melon financier
Vanilla financier, chocolate financier, fig financier, chocolate caramel financier, gamtae financier, and more.. so many financier flavors too! Oh, and that gamtae financier was actually featured on Nolto (a Korean variety show) before haha.
Some of the financiers were already sold out too, sigh.
It's already famous as a pastry spot, so even visiting around 3–4pm often means a lot of the desserts are gone — go early!
Gift box and thank-you wrapping prices

Fluffy Bake Shop is also great for thank-you gifts or gifting desserts to friends. The packaging boxes are pretty too, so everyone I've gifted them to has loved them haha.

- ☑️ 4-piece box (₩500)
- ☑️ 6-piece + shopping bag (₩2,500)
- ☑️ 15-piece set + shopping bag (₩3,500)
Nice to be able to choose based on how many pieces you need! If you're looking for a light dessert gift in Gongdeok, Fluffy Bake Shop is perfect!

📍 How to store Fluffy Bake Shop's pastries — madeleines, financiers, and canelés each have different storage methods, so check the instructions!
This is what I picked, 9 kinds in total. It came out to 32,300 won! Since it was for myself, I skipped the box packaging~~
Tasting the choco, Nunettine and apple churros financiers

I was so hungry before heading to work out that I ate the choco financier (₩3,400) walking down the street first..

The choco financier was crisp outside and moist and chewy inside! A bit sweet, but the deep flavor of chocolate and butter made up for it.

I ate 3 of what I bought and arranged the rest on a plate haha. Madeleine, canelé, financier.. yum, feels like a proper spread.
Now let's try the Nunettine financier (₩3,800) and the apple churros financier (₩3,700) first.
I'm dieting so I only had one bite each! The Nunettine's texture was seriously uncanny haha — it really tastes like the actual Nunettine snack we all know! My dad said it was delicious and ate up the rest..

This one's the apple churros financier~! It had a streusel topping? which made it unique and tasty. Kind of gave off mammoth bread vibes too!! My dad said it was delicious and finished the rest of this one too..
Verdict: what time to visit Fluffy Bake Shop
With so many varieties of financiers, madeleines, and canelés to pick from based on taste, Fluffy Bake Shop is a Gongdeok Station café I'll keep coming back to. The packaging is pretty and everything's delicious, so whenever I need a thank-you gift or dessert present in Gongdeok, this is the place haha.
Popular items tend to sell out fast by the afternoon, so if you want to pick from a wide selection, I'd recommend visiting before 2pm!
